He retired because Ponting left and he CBF touring for nine months with the Gen Y clique. Fact.

No conclusive proof for the link but Dar has gone off this series. The umping down the other end has been iffy too.

Dar was a great umpire even without DRS. But yeah with DRS, the impact of umpiring errors come down and they are perceived to be better at their job.

tbh, you don't mind when a good bowler or someone bowling good stuff is doing well. But when you're getting out to, in spin terms, the help, that sucks.
