International Regular
Just seeing how the English media are raving about Joe Root, it just got me wondering, who is the best young batsman at international level right now and who has the most potential? you have a few knocking around..
India= Kohli and Pujara
WI= Darren Bravo and Powell
NZ= Wiliamson
England= Root and Bairstow
Root- it's still early days really, he's been fantastic in the ODI's and done well in the Tests in India, but Williamson and Darren Bravo also done well in India and hit tons on their first trips over there, hasn't faced express pace yet at test level so it will be interesting to see how he copes with that,
Kohli- looked fantastic when he got a ton in Aus and was a master in the ODI's but slipped a little of late, especially in the England series,
Bairstow- had a rough time against WI but nearly got a ton vs SA, hasn't been able to hold down his test place though,
Pujara- looked unmovable at times against England but fell short towards the end of that series, clearly a solid talent though,
Williamson= the kid is a fighter, got a very good ton in India and was on fire, then his form dipped a little till he got another ton against the fierce SA attack last year at home, so the boy can clearly perform in different conditions.
Powell- had a poor start to test cricket but has been getting better and better, hitting three tons of late and is scoring runs in the ODI's, and the way he plays is extremely stylish, he must be the youngest opener at test level too,
Darren Bravo= he started very well in Sri-lanka, then got even better in India when he hit back to back tons, didn't do himself justice in England with the two tests he played last year but he's got two tons for WI since, and showed with a decent 86 knock in the recent Aus ODI series that he's starting to get more comfortable with different conditions.
So who's the best and who has the most potential?
