Shane Warne scored the most runs (3154) in his career without making 100 (145 innings)

In terms of specialist batsmen, Chetan Chauhan generally opened the batting in his 68 test innings, but never made a ton.

Other specialist batsmen to have never made a ton include:

Mike Brearley*- 66 inns.

Bruce Laird- 40 inns.


*Although it could be argued that Brearley was a specialist captain rather than a specialist bowler....
