For the record, Craig Cachopa was bounced out by Mark Gillespie today. Made a mess of playing the short one and ballooned it to Ronchi.

After Gillespie's spell, though, Wellington bowled down the drain and let Hopkins and Barry get away.

Hopefully - seems Gillespie needs about 400 FC overs under his belt without injury before he gets into gear.

I wouldn't be surprised if he typically holds back a bit bowling for Wellington, whereas for NZ he always gives it the proverbial one hundred and ten percent. Maybe even one hundred and eleven.

Brilliant comeback from BOP in the Hawke Cup. They lost on first innings so have to win outright to retain it. Good work by Goodin and Carter today, and Hampton throughout the match. Outstanding game.

What a spoon-worthy lukewarm chase this is by Wellington. Did they not realise that chasing 266 in 50 is actually harder than it sounds, and needed a Ronchi promotion to have any chance.

Yeah hard luck Manawatu. Badenhorst at 4, Milne as a specialist bat, they were pushing their luck tbf. Kane's old school-mate Brett Hampton should get some Ford Trophy play for ND I'd wager.

Yeah, rare for me to show a genuine interest, but what would an OD XI probably look like now Howsie? So many guys looking to usher in this changing of the guard, Carter, Popli, Vodnala, Desai, Henry Cooper, Hampton, Tamati Clarke. Seems that Seifert is on the outer for now.

Ronchi out with a hammy injury, 4-6 weeks. Big shame, would have had him batting 7 for the tests.

Marto has broken down as well. Gillespie 11 wickets.. I'd give him 1 more game to prove himself and fitness, and if he looks the goods get him in the squad.
