*Official* New Zealand Domestic Cricket Season 2012/2013

Not Terrible
Don't ND only have to win one of their last two games to make it through, that seemed to be what Marshall said at the toss anyway.

Van Beek is a complete mystery to me, is he a batsmen or bowler because he doesn't really look either.
Ah you're right.

Wellington still pretty much certainly in though, win or no.

**** me, looks like Otago slipped Borgas a tenner before the game. No exaggeration, he single handedly lost Wellington the game.
Iqbal and Borgas were really poor. Iqbal got off to a reasonable start - at least by the 2nd over he'd hit a few boundaries, but together with Borgas the scoring became really bogged down and it wasn't really as if they were trying any big shots either - they just kept finding the fielders or scoring singles. The score would have been an embarrassment if Ronchi, Elliott and Kugglejuggle hadn't pulled finger.
Just back from the game. Borgas was abysmal and boosted his SR towards the end after he had dug a massive hole.

Iqbal decided to slow down after Papps got out. At that stage they were 2 down and I thought he should have continued to hit over the top while the fielding restrictions were still on.

Anyway what I really wanted to say is that Hamish Rutherford may not have scored the most runs during the game but he looked the goods. He will be a blackcap at some stage.

Neil Broom also looked classy against spin.

if Firebirds host semi on Friday it will be at Basin Reserve. Start time to be advised
Oh really? The Stadium sucks so hard that even McGoldrick isn't going to make a "Friday, lights, let's go" request at gunpoint.

Oh, well this is rich. Thinking of putting your boi Wagner on the bench for the CL, smart.

Brett Lee to join Volts

Otago Cricket today confirmed that Brett Lee will join the Otago Volts for their match against the Canterbury Wizards at the University Oval on Tuesday night.

Otago Cricket Ross Dykes said: “With a home final being secured with two rounds remaining we have taken the opportunity to secure the services of Brett for a one of game on Tuesday. We realise that there is still a lot of hard work to do in this competition but one must plan ahead and be prepared to have players qualified if we were to qualify for the Champions League.

"With Ryan ten Doeschate involved with several teams world-wide the opportunity to qualify a player of Brett’s quality and give ourselves another option was an opportunity we could not ignore.

"With the Otago Volts going strongly in the competition and Lee’s involvement in what will be a dress rehearsal for the final we hope that the public comes out and enjoys the occasion on Tuesday night”.

Weather not looking too good today in Wellington, was thinking of going to the Basin to see them play ND.

Do mine eyes deceive? Is Jesse actually batting like he gives a ****? And is Michael Papps batting like he isn't a useless shunt?

Took them a while to relise that one...

Why do Wellington get these average Aussie domestic players? Borgas now Doropoulos? Seriously, Harry Boam must have run over Siddons dog or something.

Test of loyalties in that Wellington vs ND game. Grew up in Hamilton but live in Wellington. In the end the lack Devcich in the Wellington line up made me cheer for the winning team.

Lets hope this new Jesse Ryder continues into a FC game before the England tour.

All in Auckland's hands now btw. The amusing scenario of Howsie waving down a motorist for assistance, only to discover it's Phlegm.

Ryder with the most runs, highest average and highest strike rate of any batsman in the competition with more than 100 runs.
