Results of Fletcher's 30-minute throwdown to Tendulkar yesterday showing ... Wish he followed the footsteps of Kirsten in this regard from the start...

Gambhir goes ... The prospect of watching a Tendulkar-Kohli partnership in an Eden Gardens winter test match... I miss it :(

Honestly can't see India getting more than 400 tbh.

Kohli, Sachin, Yuvraj and MSD are all not in the sort of form where they will score big tons. Most likely a couple of 50s and starts, a contribution from Ashwin, and we'll end up with 350-420ish all out.

Which won't be enough, as Cook will ton up again, KP will blaze, and the rest will chip in. England will probably score around 500.

India collapse in the second innings under pressure, with a bit of life in the wearing pitch for Monty and Swann. England complete and easy runchase, go 2-1 up.

If only it was that easy. Obviously i'd not say no to this scenario but a very long way to go yet.

Only batsmen who have threatened to score big so far in this series, or over the last year for that matter, are Sehwag and Pujara, and they're both gone.

Kohli has yet to discover his ODI form in Test cricket, and Yuvraj could get a big score if gets his eye in I suppose, but he's a poor started.

Ummm, Kohli averages the same in test matches in 2012 than he does over the course of his ODI career (51).

Tendulkar isn't trying to hit out of form. He very much knows what reactions he'll get if he gets out for a 10 in 50 deliveries or so. Still he has so much confidence in his defense! What a great fighter!

Someone like Pietersen needs to learn this from players like Tendulkar, Dravid, Kallis, Ponting - having confidence in your defense in the worst of times...
Tbf, in their primes Ponting and Sachin weren't like this.

Should start an 'Indian Batting Lineup Gloom and Doom' thread tbh.

Although poor batting has a lot less to do with lack of bench strength, and more to do with selectors being unwilling to cut out senior players + younger players failing (excepting Pujara)
