They wanted to go 4-0 for the revenge.
  Plotting revenge never leads to anything good. Never has, never will. And yes, I think India should be prepared to put in "too much hard work to get the wickets". Jackass statement by Dhoni. We deserved to lose this test because of that attitude, and it's a good thing we did. Hopefully he would have learnt something.

What do England fans think about Ian Bell now?..guy has been below average since the India 2011 series now.
Will return, maybe shouldn't but certain to. His best bet might be to replace Trott at 3 for NZ as Trott is in a worse run than Bell.

Would love to see Bairstow get the NZ tour to cement his place even if he makes way for Ding Dong next test. Can't see Patel playing again after this tour but if they want his extra spin option then so be it.

Trott five times the batsman Bell could ever wish to be

Eoin ten times obv

Joke that Bairstow/Patel are keeping him out of this lineup

You shouldn't even be contemplating some of the stuff these guys were saying in the lead up. Gambhir and Kohli going on about green tops and rank turners, Dhoni pleading for doctored pitches. It hints at a sense of entitlement..how can anyone condone that attitude? Gambhir, as late as yesterday evening, was refusing to admit that the English spinners were plain better. I really don't mind every last bit of humiliation heaped on these overpaid primadonnas...I don't mind the side winning either of course, but humble pie is always welcome.

And that rant about green tops was so stupid considering Australia racked up 500+ almost every match and an out of form Ponting was scoring hundreds..the pitches in Australia were as flat as Australian pitches can be..like this summer.

omg seriously mr dhoni?

england now have got a serious chance of winning the series considering that the next two tests will likely be played on similar tracks.
Ok if I were England, I wouldn't be so over confident considering the fact that its still only Cook and Pietersen who have demonstrated any ability to bat like world class batsmen and the rest have struggled to reach 30.

Well, waking up to this win was incredible, but I'm more fascinated that Luton is in India, now that's mind-boggling:p

How on earth can Dhoni justify playing Harbhajan? Was cack for his state and his short stint at Essex. Must be cos he skittled England in a T20 eh?

Prior?

Anyway, two world class batsmen is more than enough, if others do some sort of half decent job. So far Prior has looked good (avg 53 so far). Compton looks promising (avg 35). Swann will be a handful. I reckon Bell (he does come back, right?) will score a few as well. Not sure who will play at 6 (Bairstow, Patel or Morgan, or possibly Root), but good for some runs, I'ld say.

England have two real problems: Trott and Broad.
Trott looks out of form, but obviously won't be dropped. He did well in SL and had two fair innings against Pakistan. I have no idea if he might come good.
Broad, as things go now, is simply useless. He has bowled only 12 of the 160 overs. In the first test 24 out of 176. Total figures of 0-157 in 36 overs. Not good. I wouldn't be surprised though if he gets a few more chances.
Furthermore, Patel has looked useless with the ball, but I guess he will be dropped.

Only thing we can take out of this match is that none of the English batsmen besides Cook and KP (who was pretty much unstoppable) scored runs, and that Harbhajan will likely never play another test match for ages.

Well played England. Some of our blokes need to grow a spine and tuck their egos away, as I said before, they should learn from Compton's knocks in the first test 2nd innings and in the first innings in this game.
