Bring Vettori into the middle order for Flynn and back him as a batsman to hold his place.

Hi, welcome to site. In general like idea of Vettori at 6, if he wants to do it, but in place of Flynn? Flynn has the ability imo and needs a long run in the side (like Williamson and Guptill have had) to come right.

Franklin is the other middle order option, but he plays spin better than most of our batsmen, so should retain him for Sri Lanka.

A lot of the answer imo depends on how likely it is that the pitches are puddings - if they are then we probably don't need three pace bowlers (plus Franklin).

If he can't push Patel out of the side based on bowling alone he shouldn't be in the side tbh.

I do like Flynn but I think long term hes behind the top four plus Ryder (if he ever makes it back) in the pecking order. Id keep Franlin for Sri Lanka and hope Vettori finds form, if one doesnt perform think about bringing back Flynn after.
