**Official** South Africa in England 2012

Yeah you're right we are too defensive to possibly contemplate winning a game of Test cricket.

Ideas for the next game? Trott out and Luke Wright in for mine. Reckon we have to find a way of fitting in Darren Stevens as well, Cook being the one to sacrifice.

Lacking sloggers innit, get Trego in, simples.

KP MOTM?

Really do fancy England at lords.
Yeah so do I. For me the sight of Broad getting back to what he has been doing consistently for the past year and troubling top batsmen with pace, movement and menace was even more significant than the promising debut from Taylor or KP showing signs of a return to the the dominating form of the first half of his test career. And you can count on Jimmy bringing it. It would be impossible to imagine him producing a third lacklustre performances on the spin in a series such as this at any venue, let alone Lord's.

Agree, Broad really is a awesome bowlers when it clicks and finds that full length, no matter who the batsman he causes them problems. KP when he was at Lords last scored a very good double ton in very very tricky conditions, even if it was against India last year the ball was swinging and seaming all over the pace, obviously helps atm when he's seeing it like a beach ball.

LOL No, where do you get that from about Kallis, he's got the lowest strike rate out of both sides top 6 even Trott.

Eh? they don't all need to be attacking not with KP & Prior in the side

All Cook, Strauss and Bell are in and around 50 strike rate, same as Amla and many other top order batmen around the world.

It's not about attacking it's about putting runs on the board in the first innings.
Add that to how Englands bowlers are struggling to take wickets. Even if the wickets does a bit more that will also help South African bowlers. Plus Strauss and Trott arent in the best of form.

Weather permitting 2 - 0 to South Africa.

Jimmy's a funny one. Hasn't looked bad throughout the series by any means but has just lacked any penetration for whatever reason. A long spell of cloud cover at Lord's would be nice, if he can get consistent swing for 60 overs then you'd bet on him getting a haul with the control he's shown.

Finally some sense on this thread:D

Attachment aimed at no-one in particular
Haha was waiting for this.

England had a lot of cloud cover this match....

Swanneh back in for Finn and Gronions in for Bres for me at Lords.

Unless Swanny's elbow is properly knackered that is
Playing for Notts inbetween tests, so if it is, it's nothing that's stopping him from playing.

Yes on the attack, if they stay with a 4 man, Swanny in for Bres and Onions in for Finn but they might be tempted to play Finn at his home ground, don't think he's played at Headingley before which is surprising

Beyond ridiculous if this happens, the guy obviously wants to play test cricket but the ECB are wanting to show him who's boss, always been great at man management.

Off twiter:

'Pietersen tells Test Match Special he'd like to carry on playing Test matches but there are "obstacles" that need to be worked out'

No - he'd like to play some tests, ie. those that don't interfere with his IPL commitments.
