Whoa. Was considering a tiredness-inducing mixture of staying up late/getting up early, but I'm glad I decided against it now. That's horrendous.

Wright's done some great things as coach (Hobart, WC semis) - it's a shame he's going out on such a bum note.

'Highlights' are here. Flynn's dismissal from side-on was a prime example of his no-front-foot play. A couple of decent shots though. Want him and Brownlie to step up and score some runs next match - both good players but with abysmal ODI records to date. Nicol with his charge-slog as the go-to shot but strike rate of 50 is woeful viewing. Also not the first time he's put down a skyer. We won't win a match (ODI) unless we get Gayle early.

Was really disappointed with how Williamson was dismissed last night, absolutely soft. Sammy's barely above club standard, treat him as such. No need to be playing with 1/4 of the bat trying to pick up singles.

Oh, and would it be too much to ask for someone to use their feet against Narine? He's going to have a field day all tour if we're not prepared to make him change it up.

FFS, even Bangers would've easily done better than this. A decent batting track, and even Watling got past 50. Really disappointed with Kaneh and Flynn. And Guppy back to his old fishin self FFS.

Without Rossco and Dan, the batting lineup looks awfully weak.

Some NZ fans actually stayed up? I salute how you've still got any optimism left at all.

and watching the H/Ls I've come to the conclusion that Brownlie should be played against no-one except Australia.
Watching Brownlie bat against Narine was depressing.

Very hard to use your feet to a guy you can't pick. Stumped Ramdin b Narine would get a fairly decent run. I'm surprised we don't sweep him more

The argument to that is that if you can't pick someone you're better off at least trying to get to the pitch of it to negate the spin rather than hanging in the crease and praying.

Ask Murali how that's worked against him over the years...not well, I'd say. Remember the Sri Lankan series where Fleming got his 274*, they had a plan of sweeping him on certain lines and looking to leave a lot as well. They still weren't picking him but got through it. If Narine takes 0-25, that is no big issue for us. The rest of their attack is hardly world-class, even if we make it look so.

Our problem is shots lke Williamson's. That was horrendous.

Didn't see Williamson, but Nicol and Brownlie were beyond horrible. Yeah I don't mean blindly charging three times an over, but the occaisional skip down the wicket especially early in his spell would be nice.

kinda thankful for the awful playing hours, if they were on at a somewhat reasonable hour I'd probably waste my time watching them.

We're going to win tonight, I can feel it in my bones. Bowl first, get Gayle out and watch the game change :)
