Not really ideal conditions for Twenty20, plenty in it for the seamers. Wickets tumbling again at the Oval.

Was at the Oval today, fairly miserable it has to be said but had good hour in the pub before going back for the start.

Worth it for KP getting out first ball, Batty clearly fuming that they were still playing and a Meaker beamer that led to them going off.
If that was after Hants had reached the 5 over point it's puzzling - the only way that Surrey could win was if they stayed out there and took a few wickets.

Bloody weather.

It's long since ceased to be funny.

Looks like we might've seen the last ball bowled at Notts. Shame 'cos it was well set up too. Shahzad was up over 90mph in the one over of the Notts reply we did get.

I'm seriously considering putting the garden furniture back in the shed, tbh. I actually think this year has been worse than 2007 - when it never came out at all.

Seems the March heatwave was just a false dawn ...

Nick Cook is good value in this interview, isn't he! They should talk to the umps more often.

sigh glos have picked up ed cowan for a couple of weeks before the aus a tour. Hopefully we're paying him next to nothing. subject to a visa.
Might be a useful person to have though as Gloucs look to have a slight issue with finding an opening partnership, Dent's tonned up this year but he's not exactly confidence inspiring so Cowan may or may not work out for Gloucs.

Known fact Stumpski, England's summer is in March not July.

I go for the theory that it can't quite simply rain all summer. And that if it's going to rain now it will lesser the chances of it raining later in the summer. Because the last couple of years it's been glorious for the first part of the summer then turned **** for the latter part.

I'm probably wrong though.

42 off four overs for Notts to get - and Nass is right isn't he? Doesn't matter how many wickets they lose.

July is actually the wettest month of the year FTR. As in it has the highest amount of rainfall on average.

Course Nass is right.

42 off 4 overs? Seems doable.
I still think D/L sucks for T20. 180 off 20 down to 49 off 5? That's such a big advantage IMO. With all wickets in hand etc...

I think it works well in ODI's, but I think for T20 it's outdated and hasn't caught up with how quickly people can score nowadays.

Or how unimportant wickets are in a short game like this one.

Jayadevan would set a significantly higher target.

First time I've seen the Monte Carlo fallacy applied to weather, I must say.

Sussex storming to a target of 109 in 15. Could get there with 5 overs to spare at this rate.

And I'm sure it'll be glorious come mid-September.
