**Official** West Indies in England 2012

Disagree with most people here, you can see a slight touch of the pad on the view when it hasn't yet gone past the edge, and in the next frame it has deflected further into the pad. Difficult decision and so so close but you have to withold the umpire's decision there. No reason to overturn it.
Well, it's certainly not the disgraceful decision made out by some, but I wouldn't have given it, doubt for me, but I'm a bit old-fashioned about these things.

Well, Hill's bad decision, the Third Umpire was right to upheld it though.

Really wish WindieWeathers was here for his reaction :(
Another shocking DRS conspiracy decision against the poor little West Indies 8-)
Clearly hit the bat before pad, only a blind man would think that hit pad first. He smashed it, it was half way to the boundary before it hit the pad 8-)

Absolute joke that the ICC supports this horribly unfair conspiracy of a DRS system. A decision will never go against England or Australia, and will always go against us.

Only an England supporter would say it was out 8-) If Swann's coming out of hiding, the pitch must be turning square. I can't wait for Narine to run through your line up like a hot knife through butter, it's going to be hilarious to see Bell, Morgan and everyone else squirming with no idea where the ball is or where it's going

[/WW Rant]

Didn't think it was a horrible call per se. It was very tight, and looked more-or-less simultaneous to me. Probably the closest decision we've seen in recent memory.

And Broad gets one now..

poor poor decision from tony hill. he looked and looked and looked and should have said, nah not sure. end of.

instead he says ahhhh maybe by a millimetre (probably right) it hit the pad first so lets give him out.

So we have 35 minutes examining replays, its like counting the dimples on a pin head. who gives a ****. has never been out, is not out everywhere else, shouldn't be out. thoroughly inconsistent with the history of the game, the spirit of the rules, against the entertainment of the fans. We have the same problem of micro-video-refereeing here in rugby league and it's appalling.

Is a calypso collapso now on the cards?

Not a particularly good ball by Broad, but a swish and a nick is good enough!

Actually a good first 16 overs from us. WI only going at 4 an over. Would definetly have taken that at the start, considering Gayle is out.
Wouldn't have guessed 5 sixes had been hit already. Half their score in 5 balls so far.

Appalling decision. Utterly abominable, but so, so unsurprising.
Wrong.

A good call.

that is ****ing stupid, the ball was infront of the edge in one shot, then it hit the pad in the next, it had to have come off the edge
You see the mark on the bat but that was already there before the bat came into view - the bat being behind the front of the pad when the ball hits it having, a fraction before, toiuched the pad.

Oh, and Mr Gayle might need to take his wallet somewhere soon....

I agree.

And VERY good patience from Tony Hill. In such a situation it can be tough for an umpire to calmly go through the procedures.

Think you're going a bit far with this. In the end its one decision, right or wrong. And its probably right. There have been many more incorrect decisions in the game's history that are more deserving of criticism.

yeah probably going too far, but the micro analysing, especially on decisions which have always been and would cause no dramas to continue to be not out I find quite frustrating. In fact I find the whole drs shebang quite irritating

Which is what made it a good decision.

He cleared his mind of distractions, made sure of what he saw - or more likely here heard, confirmed this and decided.

Got it right as well......
