Oh well fair enough then. He's only come on in the last year or so.I meant to write, 'of which he was **** in two of them'.

I don't exactly remember Ajmal getting beltedPeople were bigging Narine up because England struggled against spin over the winter, and ignored the fact that visiting spinners to England, unless they're named Warne or Murali, get belted.
His stock ball is a lot better than Mendis' off spinner.I think he's an ordinary bowler tbh. Didn't watch the IPL but did see bits of the Aus series where he had the advantage of bowling on crap pitches. Mendis seemed far more of a mystery when he started than this guy. Dodgy action too but that is par for the course these days.
Have you ever contributed anything other than "" and "this" to cricket chat btw?
Which is why so many people were voicing doubts about how he would be the great saviour that he was being talked up as, particularly by one of your fellow supporters who has a tendency for more than a little hyperbole I think it's safe to say!Oh well fair enough then. He's only come on in the last year or so.
He was nothing more than average in England though. Which makes him comfortably the best foreign spinner to visit these shores sinces Murali.I don't exactly remember Ajmal getting belted
his average there was probably better than the career averages of Broad and AndersonHe was nothing more than average in England though. Which makes him comfortably the best foreign spinner to visit these shores sinces Murali.
So the hype has been proven wrong because he failed to get a wicket in HALF AN INNINGS on an absolute road that Swann also failed on? hhhmmm OK!! ,Which is why so many people were voicing doubts about how he would be the great saviour that he was being talked up as, particularly by one of your fellow supporters who has a tendency for more than a little hyperbole I think it's safe to say!
At last some common sense!! , regarding Permaul, well he's just 22 and has been playing for Guyana since he was 16, so unlike many of our other spinners such as Narine and Bishoo that kid has a wealth of first class experience, he's a left-arm spinner and has all the tricks, usually his bowling is very tight aswell, it's gonna be interesting to see how he progresses, if Narine doesn't impress at Test level then i think Permaul will be the next in line, i also think he could easily partner Narine like Pakistan use Rehman and Ajmal.FFS give the kid some time. He has a very good off break, and it's his length and pace he has to tweak. That's why I said from the beginning he should have a bit of time with a senior spinner like Murali (who bowls similar type of drliveries) or Vettori (who is an absolute master of controlling flight and pace).
And an unkown called V. Perumal as run through India A playing WI A, while much hyphed Bishoo was taken for cleaners by Indian juniors. Must be knocking on the door if he repeats his performance against IND A
It was 1 run lower. And if Broad and Anderson never played another test, I'd consider them average test players, and nothing more. Therefore, in my eyes, Ajmal was average.his average there was probably better than the career averages of Broad and Anderson
Well, you'd be wrong! Do not get sucked into the CW trap of looking at numbers without qualifying them (and I'm not talking about filters!) with intuition and rational thought. And if Broad and Anderson never played another test, I'd consider them average test players, and nothing more.
