I think there's a question mark over Narine's action, from what little I've seen of him (and that's not a lot tbf). Hope he doesn't continue to get away with it.

I think he's an ordinary bowler tbh. Didn't watch the IPL but did see bits of the Aus series where he had the advantage of bowling on crap pitches. Mendis seemed far more of a mystery when he started than this guy. Dodgy action too but that is par for the course these days.

His stock ball is a lot better than Mendis' off spinner.

Oh well fair enough then. He's only come on in the last year or so.
Which is why so many people were voicing doubts about how he would be the great saviour that he was being talked up as, particularly by one of your fellow supporters who has a tendency for more than a little hyperbole I think it's safe to say!

FFS give the kid some time. He has a very good off break, and it's his length and pace he has to tweak. That's why I said from the beginning he should have a bit of time with a senior spinner like Murali (who bowls similar type of drliveries) or Vettori (who is an absolute master of controlling flight and pace).

And an unkown called V. Perumal as run through India A playing WI A, while much hyphed Bishoo was taken for cleaners by Indian juniors. Must be knocking on the door if he repeats his performance against IND A

+ mentality, there was no need to bowl so many variations so early before settling in. but that's just inexperience.

It happens with a lot of bowlers that they bowl consistently the wrong length and it has a dramatic influence on their effectiveness. From a West Indies perspective you would hope they'll get Narine bowling the correct length sooner rather than later. He does get plenty of turn, so he can err on the full side and still beat the bat easily enough - unlike Mendis.

So the hype has been proven wrong because he failed to get a wicket in HALF AN INNINGS on an absolute road that Swann also failed on? hhhmmm OK!! ,

It seems some people haven't been watching him wrecking batsmen in the IPL and the one day series vs Aus!!.. oh no the hype obviously came out of thin air!! 8-) .

At last some common sense!! , regarding Permaul, well he's just 22 and has been playing for Guyana since he was 16, so unlike many of our other spinners such as Narine and Bishoo that kid has a wealth of first class experience, he's a left-arm spinner and has all the tricks, usually his bowling is very tight aswell, it's gonna be interesting to see how he progresses, if Narine doesn't impress at Test level then i think Permaul will be the next in line, i also think he could easily partner Narine like Pakistan use Rehman and Ajmal.

Anyway it was a big win for our ODI side over Middlesex today, made 335 with Darren Bravo getting a ton, Dwayne Smith 96, Dwayne Bravo 40 and Gayle struck a quick 30 himself, then we rolled them out for 107, Narine got 1/21 in seven overs, i think that wicket will boost his confidence, it seems to always work that way, he'll go a few games without taking a wicket, then in the third game he'll take one and keep things tight, and after that he's a monster, i guess we'll see if that theory holds true on saturday,

I really think we've got a frightening one day team, from top to bottom we're dangerous, before our tail were just killing teams in the late overs to give us a chance, now with Gayle and Bravo back in the top order we've got match winners at the top aswell, many pundits believe we're favorites for this series and it's great to hear that, it's been a while since we were favorites for any series against the top teams, especially AWAY from home.

his average there was probably better than the career averages of Broad and Anderson :p
It was 1 run lower. And if Broad and Anderson never played another test, I'd consider them average test players, and nothing more. Therefore, in my eyes, Ajmal was average.

Well, you'd be wrong! Do not get sucked into the CW trap of looking at numbers without qualifying them (and I'm not talking about filters!) with intuition and rational thought.
