As you'll note, the first line of my post had a question mark on the end. That denotes a question, not a statement.
The response wasn't just directed at you tbf but what made you leave that comment in the first place, did you think we were.

It would be beyond stupid to write someones career off after a few over, just like it is after 3 innings. In fact I've practically said the same as what put in your second paragraph.

Reading the posts from today's play has made my week.

Been a bit shambolic by England but good fun really. Doesn't hurt as much seeng the number 11 score quickly when the series is won and you know he will bowl crap anyway.
Actually bowling pretty well.

Yeah, that was very annoying, seems to happen a lot with us, whilst other nations seem to develop all-rounders we lose them. Tres, Thorpe, Butcher, Bell, KP, Trott, all started out bowling quite a bit, but ended up as nought. Won't count Athers because of his back problems. Would really help as we go in with 4 bowlers.

Well done Ramdin, BTW. :)
Cba to look up records but Butcher was a much better bowler than Bell, KP, Trott.

Love it when teams who rest star players get some comeuppance.
Indeed, shows the value of experienced spearheads at the level!

Don't England have a plan b? I don't know why the bowlers don't try more things. Incredible innings, so gun from the likeable Best. Hopefully he bowls well or else this might be his last Test still.
Where were the yorkers and surely no way this will be Tino's last Test. His performance with the ball has been better than anything Edwards has done.

Has Onions lost a bit of pace since a few years back?
The speed guns are reading lower than before and I'm sure Onions could still crack 90mph in a one-dayer.

The rules now allow for 15 degrees of straightening so it's probably legal. You can do a lot with 15 degrees.
Disagree a lot. 15 degrees really is **** all.

The reason bumble is getting stick is because he was very naive with his comments about Narine today, talking about "he's no Ajmal"..erm Ajmal done his damage in the bloody UEA on spinners tracks, not a damn road in cold conditions without even having a warm up game to get acclimatised!!, the pitch had absolutely nothing for Narine to work with but the way he was going on you'd have thought Bell and Pieterson were winning a battle against Murali on a minefield!! 8-) , the guy was just clueless.
No he wasn't naive with his comments he said that Test cricket was a whole different game to the IPL which is correct, the morons who keep abusing him on twitter because of that should go eat soap.

can someone fill me in what was going on when this was posted pls? went to sleep

horrible reading.
Bell & KP smashing it around and the umpires took them off for bad light, then they came back on again, then went off again, pretty farcical to say the least.

The thing with Compton as well is that he doesn't get drawn in to playing too many shots. With guys like Bairstow or Stokes, and to a lesser degree Taylor and Bopara, you get the feeling that they have to hit their way out of trouble, as compared to playing patiently and working through difficult periods.

Its not necessarily a bad way to play, however with a middle order of Bell, Pietersen and Prior - three strokemakers - a 'grinder' type player is what is needed IMO. Hence why Collingwood was successful at 6 - he broke up the shot-playing middle order.

Compton can grind his way to a 130+ ball 50, or accelerate depending on the game situation. Quality player.

The thing is Narine was hyped up as the great new bowler of world cricket and a few weeks back Bravo was Lara II, epic fail for the Windies press then.

All commentators make mistakes, some more than others.
Bravo scored back to back tons IN india and Narine has embarrassed the likes of Tendy, that's where the hype has come from, it's not like it's come out of thin air. Warne got 1/150 AT HOME on his debut so needless to say i think i'll give Narine a little more time before i start to doubt him.

Absolute bollocks with regards Bumble, he was being very fair to Narine, if anything he was trying to quell expectation about him that has been created by people like WW. The Ajmal comment was in reference to what Ajmal as achieved in Test cricket and how old and experienced he is, if anything he was complementary about him and said he needed time to adjust to Test cricket. It seems to me you've heard what you wanted to and gone off on one as usual.

Thing is everyone on Twitter has been bombarding Bumble with comments that Narine would run through this English batting line a knife through butter, maybe he was disappointed with how he bowled but he certainly never said as much.

Acting like a tool tbh.
And you're seemingly acting like a damn baby about someone having a different opinion regarding Bairstow!! 8-) , Bumble was pretty much writing off the lad just because he couldn't get Pieterson and Bell out in his first spell, what the hell has Ajmal got to do with this test anyway? he was using him as a stick to beat Sunil with, which was rather stupid considering one played England in spinner conditions while the other had to play England IN ENGLAND on an absolute road, him and Nasir just didn't know what they were talking about at all.

he bowled like a guy who has played 6 fc games, of which he was **** in
Narine's bowling average is 11.88 in FC. Not sure where someone got the 46 or whatever but that's miles wrong. He destroyed batsmen in the last FC competition here.

Sounds awfully dull. Bugger that. Dennis would not approve.

And neither do I.
