**Official** West Indies in England 2012

The last 4 wickets of the England batting line up are likely to be of the batsman rather than the bowler's play. So no it wouldn't change anything, he doesn't even look like he's going to be taking a wicket anytime soon either he produced one ball of note today and thats it.

If Ravi does play I hope he proves us all wrong but I just don't think he will. He couldn't even cope with MJ at a place other than Perth

I'm not slating him, i'm just telling it how i see it, at least Narine has genuine excuses, what does Bairstow have? the english media have been bigging him up but it was all on false hope imo, Taylor was better than him in the Lions game, Narine hasn't even completed his first innings yet and if he takes four of the last five wickets would that change things? of course it would, that's why it's naive to compare Bairstow's failure to Narine's first spell today!! 8-) .
No way near to the extent that Narine has been portrayed as in the media. You'd think he was Warne and Murali in one, and that he would be winning the match on his own. The only things said about Bairstow are that he's got good potential and can be a good test batsmen, which is still a high possibility at this stage.

If I was I'd still be right cos England are batting ATM.

The English media haven't been bigging Bairstow up any more than he deserves, he has a lot of a talent but he has a few things to work out.

Narine on the other hand seems to be the chief thing every muppet with a twitter account seems to be hitting Bumble with ATM.

Narine's dazzled top world class batsmen though, that's why he's been bigged up, Bairstow got a few boundries and bumble and co were raving about him like he was Viv #2!! :D .

I'm pretty sure a FC average of 46, all of which was played in years when he wasn't anywhere near his peak and some limited overs success also had a role to play in the raving of him.

The reason bumble is getting stick is because he was very naive with his comments about Narine today, talking about "he's no Ajmal"..erm Ajmal done his damage in the bloody UEA on spinners tracks, not a damn road in cold conditions without even having a warm up game to get acclimatised!!, the pitch had absolutely nothing for Narine to work with but the way he was going on you'd have thought Bell and Pieterson were winning a battle against Murali on a minefield!! 8-) , the guy was just clueless.

The thing is Narine was hyped up as the great new bowler of world cricket and a few weeks back Bravo was Lara II, epic fail for the Windies press then.

All commentators make mistakes, some more than others.

Absolute bollocks with regards Bumble, he was being very fair to Narine, if anything he was trying to quell expectation about him that has been created by people like WW. The Ajmal comment was in reference to what Ajmal as achieved in Test cricket and how old and experienced he is, if anything he was complementary about him and said he needed time to adjust to Test cricket. It seems to me you've heard what you wanted to and gone off on one as usual.

Thing is everyone on Twitter has been bombarding Bumble with comments that Narine would run through this English batting line a knife through butter, maybe he was disappointed with how he bowled but he certainly never said as much.

Acting like a tool tbh.

Comeon guys it's too harsh on Narine, just his opening match, let him settle down a bit. I;m not saying he will be that bigger next spinner but atleast have him play some matches before any conclusion. Also guys who hyped him much was a bit too much I think for a guy who never played a single test match

So we're writing Narine off already?

Seems to me the chances of a debutant spinner, playing in England for the first time on an unresponsive track, taking 0-for in 15 overs are pretty reasonable.

The hype surrounding the guy is understandable. He perplexed plenty of world-class players in the IPL, on all sorts of tracks. Now he's having to readjust to batsmen not trying to score off him every ball, which is where he becomes most dangerous. Not in a Test on a ground that has been soaked to the bone for the first two days.

Who the **** has wrote Narine off, WW wrote Bairstow off earlier and one or two gave him it back using Narine as a example. People have just pointed out he was ridiculously and unfairly hyped up for this one test match and he's going to take time to learn his game in Test match cricket.

As far as I'm concerned he looks a good bowler, obviously he's got all the tricks and it's up to him to develop his game for Test match cricket.

As you'll note, the first line of my post had a question mark on the end. That denotes a question, not a statement.
