81-ball 100 for Sarwan, and could he yet be called into the Windies one-day squad? The partnership with White has added 79 in 10 overs, but they may have just been given too much to do.

And a low-pressure 100 for Bopara, who was probably never in danger of losing his ODI spot even before KP's announcement.

Decent knock from Ravi, tbf. Friendly sort of attack, but he was pretty clinical; 120 from 100 is a great effort.

Televised runs count double, of course, so I suppose the ball's in Bairstow's court.

Yeah runs in the forthcoming Test won't do JB any harm, and as I said I suspect Ravi was always going to be in the ODI side. Question is whether there could be room for Taylor (who made a fine 100 the other day) as well.

Lol. Foster pronounced the "ck" in "****bain" in his interview...

Good job the tournament isn't sponsored by ****burns port. Tbf though, a keeper-captain has enough to think about without having to pronounce players' names properly.

Essex's fortunes should change now that Alviro Peterson is off. He had a miserable time of it and I seriously dread the prospect of Anderson and Broad bowling at him with a new ball.

50 up for Hughes, anyway. Have to give him credit; it's as ugly as a nailbomb in a kindergarten to watch, but he has an amazing eye.

Bloody hell. Would've called them slogs a few years back. What would you say? Pick-up slog-sweep?

Brutal on Shahzad tho 4-6-4...

Attempts at a slower ball led to a couple of shockers from Shahzad there - only just landed them on the cut strip.

And Hughes is quite happy to have the ball angled away from him.

Hughes bounced out. Well I never. Absolute brute from Shahzad, tbf tho. Would've been too good for much better players of the short stuff than Hughes.

104 runs to the good tho; enterprising knock.

EDIT: & Scott goes first ball. Ajmal on a hat-trick...
