I remember thinking the Blues were destined for this when listening to Pat Lam speak, came across as a bit of weirdo, seemed more interested in fostering a good Christian team culture then making the Blues the champion side they once was. Chuck in “characters” like Ali Williams and Piri Piri Chicken and you got a recipe for disaster. Shame as my first memory of Super Rugby was watching the Blues dominate with their dream team led by Zinzan and Michael Jones.
