Not really. Wasim, Waqar, Mohd Zahid, none of these guys were big muscular guys. Wasim looked emaciated when he came in. Waqar was quite slim when he came in so I really don't buy the big and muscular theory. Even Akhtar when he first came in was not big and muscular.Half of the reason India hasn't been able to produce legit fast bowlers is their physiques to be honest. When you see a guy like Shaun Tait or Brett Lee up close they are rather muscular big guys. Now compare that with the faster bowlers in India and there is an obvious disadvantage. Maybe its just genetics but none of the Indian bowlers look particularly muscular or even strong for that matter and with pitches that don't aid fast bowlers how can people be surprised that it takes longer to find a legit bowler coming through the ranks? Look at Steyn. The guy has veins popping out of his arms. (Ahktar, Lee, Steyn, Tait, Nannes, Johnson). Maybe some gym time would aid them.

The pitches he has played on in second tier of ranji have mostly being flat,He is more of odi bowler as of now but he will be good at test level too as he cans wing the ball at pace.

The kid is 22, looks well built for an Indian, bowls at a slippery speed, has a decent action as modern day actions go. I know every forum has to have at least one charming bundle of negativity and grumpiness like yourself but give the guy a chance.

I heard mention of names like Vinay Kumar and Pankaj Singh somewhere in this thread, and with due respect to the two, they will never cut it at the next level. You look at a bowler and you just know in your gut that they'll be found out at the higher levels. I'm not saying Aaron is going to amount to sweet ****all either, but there is potential there to be moulded, much more than you could ever hope to achieve with the likes of the aforementioned pair, and if we as a cricketing nation were any good at guiding and shaping our quickies, we would, still could, have a semi-decent seam attack. Praveen, Ishant, Yadav, Aaron perhaps...there is raw material there (Praveen knows his game the best out of all) but we're just so clueless with respect to bowler management and development.

Praveen is a very crafty bowler. If India was without him in England, I hate to imagine what it would have turned out like. I like Yadav, he's solid and strong- Ishant just doesn't cut it for me though. Varun looked average on debut, but there could be something there.
