Disappointed to see Chandimal isn't in the team. Really like the kids temperament. Reckon he has a break through test ton just around the corner, and won't look back from there.

Yep, AWTA. Such a class act. Really disappointing that they didn't just put Mathews at the top of the order to fit him in.

ha was thinking along the same lines...he hasn't done anything of note now for a while...biding his time for a Sangawesome match saving (winning!) knock.
You mean apart from scoring a ton in South Africa in a match Sri Lanka won and a double ton and a ton against Pakistan?

I've always thought there must be more to it than just his commentary skills, or lack of them because he seems to come across as a pretty harmless kind of bloke.
Yeah AWTA.

It's such a shame that none of Sri Lanka's middle order bats open tbh, because the openers aren't test quality IMO, but all the middle order bats, including Chandimal, are top class.

Has Anderson picked up a mystery injury that I've not read about?
Not sure, he was in discomfort at the end of the first day but bowled again the next morning.

5 innings in a row of small scores (and specifically nothing in this series so far) was all I was referring too haha...

so sending in the nightwatchman works. Although he didn't face strike

GED IT

To be serious, who gets to decide who faces first? Batsmen or bowlers? I've been watching and playing cricket for a few years, but never bothered about it.....

49-4 off about 18 overs is a waste. I'd rather they scored 30-4 off 6/7 and had a proper bowl tonight.

The series situation forces you to be more aggressive. Sri Lanka could decide just to block their way to a draw. Then those overs are crucial.
Hmmm,

From a neutral point of view, and always a fan of close games, I can't get really bothered about this. England's batting has been piss poor in the sub continent until this Test, but not their bowling. IMHO, the Lankans getting close to 300 would be quite surprising and quite an achievement. England will be able to get to 120, right? An innings defeat seems more likely!

And the alternative? Blocking out England for two days? Nah! Can't block out Anderson, Swann, Bresnan and Finn for two days

Yeah always seemed a nice enough guy just a terrible commentator.

There was also that twenty20 dance.....

Bloody typical that we finally get some runs and I missed it because of work.

Finn looks like he's running straight down the pitch when he bowls around the wicket.
