I really don't know if bowling standards worldwide have gone down in the shorter formats or not.Bowling attacks get torn apart way too regularly in the ODI game these days. These ridiculous high chases do make ODI cricket boring IMO.The 2011 WC for example, was a breath of fresh air.You didn't see the same 300+ scorelines every match.
You what?

The 2011 World Cup was the epitome of bull**** 300+ vs 300+ games. That's the only reason India won - their bowling then as now was abysmal but the pitches meant the value of quality bowling was virtually worthless because they were roads, so all bowlers were cannon fodder and it reduced everyone to India's level.

There has to be something wrong about anything India wins. This forum is steadily going into depths of ****tiness.

Thought Zaheer and Afridi were very good throughout the tournament. Honorable mention to Yuvraj Singh, who I thought bowled some very good spells. India's bowling was better in the World Cup than now - Zaheer and Yuvraj (get well soon - will mediastinal germ cell tumours ever leave us alone!) were both very good. I'd go as far to say that Munaf's performance in the World Cup was better than most we see from the current four too.

That being said, these pitches are not too helpful and I think it is good we are sticking with Vinay as he seems to be improving to the more competent batsmen.

England's prank batting managed to score 300+ however many times, and that was including comedy power-plays and collapses.

Cricket is supposed to be about a contest between bat and ball. The World Cup had 300+ chased a few times without anything exceptional happening, horrible mismatches and a team with a laughable bowling attack taking home the trophy. If you're a fan of cricket that isn't what you want to see.

This is some hilarious bit of posting.

India's attack in the World Cup was not laughable. Yuvraj was the fifth bowler, he was one of the tournament top wicket takers. Munaf bowled to the level of a top quality medium-fast bowler, Zaheer was excellent, Nehra had moments and was generally an adequate bowler. Harbhajan was below par but is still a good bowler.

No, you want to know what's the epitome of bull****? This post of yours.

Like others have pointed out, you must have only seen matches involving the minnows (Ireland, England, Kenya, etc.).

Ok, that's enough discussion about the last WC. Everyone please stay on topic, which is the Asia Cup.

Speaking of which, losing this match was all part of Pakistan's master plan of helping India reach the Final. We all know defeating them in the Final will be much sweeter than in the round robin stage! We've got you right where we want you India. :D

Would be so sweet if India wins twice against Pakistan in one tourney.

Had an exam today, wasn't able to watch much of the game. So really looking forward to the final.

They should make provisions to hold a T20 to decide tied points scenarios, and these should be the only interntaional T20s played through the year
