Insane knock! Insane run chase, 321 in 36 overs is ridiculous. How woeful were SL though? Malinga bowls yorkers at will and here he served up full toss/length junk, and not a single bouncer to Raina.

All that aside, KOHLI! OUR CHAMP!

A magnificent run chase from the Indians. It had a strange sense of inevitability about after the quick start in spite of the fact they had to maintain it for 40 overs. And stranger still Dhoni's batting wasn't even required.

What wasn't an outrage was by the time you told me Sri Lanka at $1.35 was good value, their odds had fallen to $1.20, so I didn't get on

Phew
Haha indeed, was reflecting on that call after 5 overs of India's innings.

Crucial factor other than bad bowling, good batting and flat pitch was the fact there was so little expectation for India (hell they didn't even know they could still qualify a few days ago lol).

In a funny way that may have been an easier chase than if they had to get 260-odd in 40 overs. It was so implausible that every batsman could just come out and bat naturally, and if it was in their zone, they had free licence to hit whether its ball 1 or ball 180.

Sehwag never really need that licence I guess but still there was freedom to bat.
