it's going to be the thunder vs the heat as long as both teams are healthy...
I disagree with the assertion that the Thunder are locks for the finals. When the going gets tough they only have two scoring options, and one of them is a notoriously schizophrenic shooter in Russell Westbrook. They also have nobody who can score within 15ft of the basket under pressure with Ibaka and Perkins in their frontcourt.

Personally, I think the Heat are a lock for at least the finals. In the west I think it'd wide open, I wouldn't be shocked if the Lakers went deeper than expected. If I was forced to pick right now I would probably say the Thunder but I wouldn't say it with conviction. I think any of the Thunder, Clippers, Blazers, Grizzlies, Lakers, Nuggets or Mavs could get there.

My feelings exactly about the West.

there is no way the blazers, the grizzlies or the nuggets are winning the west...i wouldn't put much money on the mavs or the lakers either this season (if they stay with their current teams)....the clippers may contend in the next year or two but the new team is too raw this year....the spurs are streaking right now but without manu i am not so sure they can seriously contend...that leaves the thunder...the youngest team, good on both ends of the floor and with the most upside of the lot...if they can stay healthy, i think they will take their conference...

Dallas are going to be rough to play against in the playoffs. So are the Clippers. Their teams are bruising and skilful. OKC are flat out just more dynamic than most teams so far, too athletic too manic. They won't be able to do that over 7 games against the Heat if they do make it that far. Need a trade, Westbrook could fetch them plenty.

Linsanity finally hits a wall. Lin was completely rattled by the Heat's D and for the first time this year looked like a bench player who didn't belong. Perhaps it was just an off night and he'll bounce back after the All-Star game. He's going to have to beat these Heat (or at least play much better against them) to prove he's for real though.

Depends on where you want to sit really. You can get nose bleed seats for as low as $15. If you want "average" seats, you're probably looking at $40 to $60 range. Good seats will run you $60 to $200. And finally the "I'm dating a model and I wanna show her off" seats will go from $200 to $2000+.

Lucky. Since Rose got drafted a decent seat costs about $75. You can still get up in the nosebleeds for $35 though, which isn't bad as there really isn't a "bad section" at the United Center.

Watching highlights of Spudd vs 'Nique has made me decide pretty easily that I will avoid the dunk contest this year. I mean, and pardon my French, but what the **** is this ****.

I really hate this weekend. Every single year. It's all so pointless, they need to make the game worth something for the post season. Conference winner gets homecourt for the Finals would make this a badass game coming up.

Yup. Will try to actually watch the game this year though since Rose might play like he gives a **** with Thibs coaching.

Nah, that's a really bad idea. Baseball has done this and it screws over the losing league every year. No matter how you slice it, the All-Star game is not a real game. Not everyone is giving their full (or heck even half) effort. Many of the true All-Stars don't even play. As such, awarding home field based on this game is unfair to the eventual team that makes it the Finals as they are penalized for a losing a game that they largely had no control over. Home field should always be given to the team with the better record, simple as.
