Do you like Afridi?

Quaggas

State Captain
AWTA. Likable kinda guy, I mean, chewing on the ball in front of 10,000 TV cameras was so new to me I had to fall in love.

I love watching him bowl, could of been one of the best test tweakers of recent times if he gave a **** about test cricket imo. As a person he's an unlikeable cheating **** tbh.

Xuhaib

International Coach
not a fan of the guy but think he had some serious skills as a cricketer which he under utilized imo he was good enough to be test cricket greatest spin bowling alrounder since Benuad but he showed only fleeting interest in the premier format.

GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
He's kinda a loveable rouge. Yes, he's "made some mistakes" (as the preferred euphemism for "being caught red handed cheating" goes), but there's an almost charming guilelessness about his skullduggery. Who else would try to dance a pirouette on a good length with about two dozen cameras in attendance?

& at least when he cheats it's to try to win, not something one can always say about certain countrymen of his.
Exactly. Top post.

Virat Kohli (c)
I agree that there is a part of Afridi that makes you want to like him, but I still find it odd that people dislike Broad, Watson, Kohli, Gambhir, KP, Gayle etc. more than Afridi. There's being an annoying **** or cry baby, and then there is being a blatant cheat.

Each to their own I guess.

EDIT: Actually Gambhir did elbow Watson which is cheating in a way, so that may be fair enough.

The Tiger King
Afridi's worth went up in my eyes when it was revealed to pcb committee that certain players didn't like him because he wanted to keep away from the bookies and the match fixing crowd

Played for Hampshire so he's alright. Witnessed his first/final/only appearance as captain of the test side as well, an amusing experience it was. Did run on the pitch against England that one time though, which was pretty disgraceful.

True, but Afridi's cheating is so bad it's actually funny.

He is an expert minnow basher who occasionally does well against the decent teams too. Sometimes, I get tired of his antics but usually his performance is worth watching

Love the guy.One of my favorite cricketers ever.

Keeping his appetite for cricket balls aside,i love his passion and energy for the sport. And i maintain that he should be made the captain for our ODI side again.Plays with all his heart, and even though his batting would infuriate the living hell out of you on most occasions,i for one, have never questioned his commitment to the side. All during the World Cup,you could see how he wanted to win.It was obvious in his body language.

I actually think he's a very good captain.People tend to ignore this because he has the crazy tag attached to him,but before Misbah he was first man to unite the team and bring the best out of it in a long time. And i think the players enjoy playing under him.Kind of has the elder brother charm to him.

Lala is a legend :)
