It's just surprising that our pace department has gotten so crap, especially considering the great fast bowlers we have produced over the years.

Yeah, fair shout. I reckon Tremlett's the better Test bowler but Finn's youth and better fitness probably put Finn slightly in front.
Tremlett is completely flippin unplayable on bouncy tracks. A big reason for the ashes drubbing was when he came in for Broad. He's more back of a length than the rest of the English crop atm and if he could stay fit he would be in my team. However he patently shouldn't have been playing in the first test in Dubai as was struggling from almost the start. Maybe it was because of the eye infection in the warmup's that he wasn't fit and did his back again.

I had hoped he'd put his fitness probs behind him. I remember Shane Warne mentioning in the ashes that he'd trimmed down a bit and had deliberately lost a bit of his muscle to try to ease the problems with his body. (in 08/09 he was even more muscular than he is now)

Looks like he's been doing everything right but things just not going for him atm.

If Tremlett was fit I'd always have him my team, I think he's one of the best in the world when fit.

It's been quite surprising how poor the Pakistan seamers have been this series.
Not really. Gul is average and Cheema is rubbish.

Pak need a complete overhaul with their limited overs side. Razzaq on batting alone is better than anything Pak currently have. Misbah should have retired after the WC farce, 200 ODIs and counting and Younis Khan level is Hong Kong. What's Azhar Ali doing playing ODIs? Kamran Akmal as a batsman, Imran Nazir and all the other clowns are better than this ****house side Pak currently put out. If Misbah plays, than there is no reason why Mohammed Yousuf shouldn't play.

Finn has been unbelievably good. Scary good. Pak would be all out for 40 if this series was played in England. Proper spanking. Good to watch.

Sure more than one member of the touring party in now wondering how the blue **** they managed to lose the test series 3-0 to this shower.

I believe Waqar said on commentary that Razzaq said his shoulder wasn't good enough for bowling so wasn't picked, and has since gone off and is currently bowling in the BPL. Can't see him being picked again if thats the case. He is better tho.

Cook alluded to it in a recent interview - the pressure of a trial by spin with men around the bat simply doesn't exist in ODIs.

He wouldn't of made much of a difference to their bowling though imo.

because your batting line up has no ****in clue to handle quality spin in a test match situation. you have been walloped many times to subcont in tests to call it just an random occurance.

Were Aus wondering the same when they were belting the English around in the odi's after the Ashes drubbing last year?
