Also, it's incredible how so many of those "in the profession" are coming out and having a dig at Capello and saying good riddance. Completely ignoring the fact that the FA handled this entire situation like a bunch of plebs of course. I know Fabio wasn't perfect, but his record was pretty damn good all things considered, and the way so many people are coming out and saying "good riddance" or "he's dropped us in it" is ridiculous. Can't say I have any grudges with him whatsoever.

It's hilarious that Arry is the best Englishman for the job because he has one FA Cup win and one 4th place finish on his CV.

He only stands to gain from this. Even if he takes the job and fails massively, the knives are already drawn for Capello, he's going to be the media's scapegoat for any failings in the summer. We'll be fed all the "Harry made a brave effort with the tatters left by Capello" claptrap which will be used as the convenient excuse for not actually coming to terms with the fact that the team just isn't up to scratch.

He's been good for the most part this season and is 3rd choice over Smalling and Jones. Gotten lots of praise.

Hodgon has shown his inability to deal with prima donnas in his time at Liverpool so that should rule him out. Hiddink would be a good selection IMO but the FA have come out and said they want an Englishman (aren't they breaking the law, technically?). Whatever you think of Redknapp, if you are looking at the English only then aside from a left-field selection like Beckham then it's hard to see it going to anyone else.
Heard Pardew's name bandied about, he's doing a good job this season and perhaps he would take Ryan Taylor to the Euros but really that would be another McClaren style appointment.
I think Arry could do a decent job, depending on what you define a decent.
Was it on here that I read Capello has the best win percentage of any England manager? And Sven was in third despite seemingly losing every friendly ever. These bloody foreigners....

Doubt Pardew would leave Newcastle at the moment, he's having the best time in his entire career and I doubt he'll want to leave to take up a job that is basically a poisoned chalice when the media seem determined to get Redknapp.
I wouldn't mind them picking someone like Beckham to be honest, I bet he would have the support of the dressing room as well. Lack of experience a huge problem though I suppose.
And yeah, that's right, Capello has the best games played/games won ratio of any England manager ever. And the only good team England have beaten at the World Cup since 1970 was with Sven in charge as well. England for the English!

I think he is first choice for us when Vidic is out, regardless of whether the fans think he should be. It depends who we're playing, Fergie likes to go horses for courses with centre backs. He was worse than ever at the start of the season but he's had a decent past few months.
