Don't they have Rayudu and Jacobs who play as keepers? Karthik seems unnecessary.Good picks by Mumbai Indians, there team looks more stronger on paper
No brainer there.7. Chris Gayle retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore.
They have got Moises Henriques, Aiden Blizzard, Dilhara Fernando. All these can be serviceableWho are their foreign players now? Malinga, Pollard, Symonds and Franklin? Is there anyone else who is top notch?
Some of those has been transferred for big money. Think KP was transferred for 1.5 million IIRC.These transfers have taken place
1. Dinesh Karthik transferred from Kings XI Punjab to Mumbai Indians
2. R.Satish transferred from Mumbai Indians to Kings XI Punjab.
3. Andrew McDonald transferred from Delhi Daredevils to Royal challengers Bangalore
4. Harmeet Singh transferred from Deccan Chargers to Kings XI Punjab
5. Kevin Pieterson transferred from Deccan Chargers to Delhi Daredevils.
6. Pragyan Ojha transferred from Deccan Chargers to Mumbai Indians
7. Chris Gayle retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Yeah their foreign players are average, though still doubt Suryakumar Yadav would get into the team. They didn't even give Rahane too much of a go when he was there and he had to transfer to Rajasthan.Besides Malinga, MI's foreign talents are meh. Symonds has been horrible, Blizzard and Jacobs barely made an impact at the top of the order and Pollard is unpredictable with the bat (though a useful bowler). Franklin wasn't too bad iirc. Karthik and Ojha were pretty good picks. They could've also tried going for Kieswetter or Brendan Taylor if they wanted a keeper bat though.
They do have Suryakumar Yadav don't they? Has a really high SR in FC cricket, so it's natural to assume he'll be decent at T20.
These are only the base prices. All teams will start bidding from them and then go up, though with Kochi out and most teams already having close to full quota can expect the average price to come down in these auctions compared to the last one.At $300k, Johnson would be an absolute steal compared to the likes of Christian @ 900k
Likewise, Luke Wright is very cheap
These guys are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better short format players than some of the millionaires
If McCullum is in the list he wouldn't be a bad acquisition either. Also Vinay seems decent in this format. These are only the base prices. Mahela Jayawardene and Ravindra Jadeja would probably be big buys out of those.
Yeah, was so pissed off when they bought Symonds for that ridiculous amount.Yeah their foreign players are average, though still doubt Suryakumar Yadav would get into the team. They didn't even give Rahane too much of a go when he was there and he had to transfer to Rajasthan.
Reckon they will make some signings in the auction too. They always seem to spend most of their money on one big player though.

That's a recurring problem with the IPL- they scout Australia, England, South Africa and at times WI and NZ for overseas imports, but pay no attention to domestic cricket. In fact, I'd have Suryakumar Yadav over Kieron Pollard or James Franklin, lately. Even Rahane over, well, Botha and Oram. The BCCI was sleeping when these franchises went big on the overseas blokes.Yeah their foreign players are average, though still doubt Suryakumar Yadav would get into the team. I hope nobody wins a bid above base price for Jadeja. Complete waste of space in T20. A little off topic, but the sooner there's a freeze on the international caps he gets, the better.Mahela Jayawardene and Ravindra Jadeja would probably be big buys out of those.
Not quite. He's played more matches than he has taken wickets. Can swing a bat, but that's it. I'd expect Mallya to buy back his state's most prolific seam-up bowler at a premium, though. Also Vinay seems decent in this format.
I don't know, Jadeja seemed to be doing really well for Kochi in the last IPL. Additionally he'll help fill up the local talent numbers in the squad and add to both their batting and bowling quite well. I would even consider him more useful than Mahela, considering the rules to be followed for this tournament.I hope nobody wins a bid above base price for Jadeja. Complete waste of space in T20.
