i haven't read the wording but things to consider: while he def changed path, the path he was running for most of the run was going to mid on, he straightened up at the end, doing it very late, and it was doubtful the ball was hitting the stumps, which made it tricky to give him out. it wasn't a case of running a straight run but going off course

In any case he wasn't actually looking at the ball when the ball hit the bat. It would be pretty tough to make an argument of deliberate obstruction.
