if bear had taken singles on all the balls he didn't hit a four or six or go out on, there's the 11 run margin, wac

Wade batting at 8 was a rediculous decision, if he bats in the top 7 the Stars win that game.

wade bats at 7 -or higher - he actually comes in where the game is alive, rather than dead, and there's no telling how he would have performed.

but yes I agree with Noble's point that promoting Faulker that far up caused more trouble in the end

Can Johnson play in the Champions League? The new setup has confused the system as before teams could just pick from their squad.

Thats irrelevant, doesnt change the fact he is a better hitter than anyone else in that team bar Hussey.

It's a shame nobody has a strong emotional attachment to any of the BBL sides, because the Stars deserve a true spray for how they approached that chase.

White, Voges, Hussey and Bailey combined for 27 runs from 36 deliveries. This was after a great platform had been provided from the power-play overs. A run-a-ball effort from the supposed strength of the Stars squad would have been near close enough given the work by Wade towards the end. A very disappointing end to the BBL for my side in a campaign that never felt like gaining great momentum.

Perth home final should be interesting. It's such a shame they cannot play in a bigger stadium, as the final would easily attract 40,000 plus in Perth.

the fact that he did his heroics when the game was dead is totally relevant. Indeed in the previous perth game Wade batted up the order and couldn't hit the big shots. Stars lost the game because A) Some costly fielding mistakes in the Perth innings, B) Poor death bowling and C) Ronchi pulled off a catch I doubt he can even fathom.

we'll give hussey a break, but on the whole wayy too much faith was given to the batting order throughout the tournament which cost them. I suppose Bailey and White did get moved around in the batting order a bit but that was the extent of the punishment for continued poor form. Jade Dernbach isn't my favourite guy but he must be wondering why he got given two shots in matches where all bowlers struggled while Bailey and co got chance after chance. Of course I'm not sure who you had in reserve (other than Simpson) but by the end someone had to go, if only to prove a ****ing point. In the end White, Voges and Bailey's failure to preform was expected.

I read somewhere online today that they are considering dumping White and making Bailey the T20I captain for the two games against India. That would almost be as bad as White being there; Bailey's form hasn't exactly been flash either.

That would be the most logical thing to do.

It will be interesting to see what squads these new selectors will come up with for the T20's and ODI's given it's their first time picking them.

What is the source of the Bailey speculation to be named captain? I found an online article from Malcolm Conn, however their is little justification for how this was determined.

Conn started running with Warner in White out a few weeks again so I'm a bit worried to hear about this turn around. But surely....

Nah, completely different deck. That one at the 'G got slower as the game went on. This one was evenly paced the whole way through.
