Hilf has bowled pretty well with the new ball to be fair. But he and Siddle shouldn't really be near an Oz team for any length of time, they're just not up to it. Nearly, but not quite. Liking the cut of Pattinson's jib though.

Hilf's had two problems in the past.

1) He's bowled too short.
2) He's been too one dimensional.

In this test he's been neither, which is why he's getting wickets. He's always had the raw materials to become a good bowler, but never really lived up to that potential. If he can string together more performances like this, he'll be a good long term option for Australia.

No. He's had many more problems. Ranging from being totally useless to bowling to right handers to not changing anything ever in his game (even now I see little change) to being way too reliant on the moving ball.
