In your eyes, maybe. Compare it to 'Slats' 'Heals', 'Greigy' and whatever cliquey nickname they give to Nicholas and get back to me.
I think you have to take into account the difficult career path Nicholas has had with Channel Nine. He was fired - and then he was brought back - he is trying to do whatever bum licking is necessary to keep his job.

My personal favourite thing to detest about Aussie Commentators is the fascination with repeating the name of the ground where they are playing. So what a great inning at the Gabba etc.

If anyone is going to name drop about the ground you are playing at it should be the English with Lords. But they don't apart from going about the honours board a fair bit (and the long room).

I don't see the NZ commentators saying that is one of the best innings we've ever seen at the Basin.

I'm pretty sure I've heard the English comms saying that this was one of the best innings at Lords' you'll see etc. etc. after some knocks.

that rule about siddle and johnson not in the same side looks even better when siddle bowls well without the sprayer

If a NZ player makes a 50 they qualify for that don't they?

I noticed yesterday that they're all calling Bellerive Oval by its traditional name and not the sponsored name (Blundstone Arena). Probably a good decision really as it is odd to call the cricket grounds by names other than their common ones.

Meh. Typical New Zealand turning this into a boring regulation victory for Australia. Need a patented Aussie collapse to make it interesting again. You have to try and take the initiative, what exactly were the Kiwis waiting for in that pre-lunch session? You had an old ball with Taylor and Brownlie set. When is it going to get easier? 50 runs in nearly 30 overs against Australia? It's not exactly a well disciplined bowling attack.

Will pay that they took it a bit easy against Starc but the bowling from Siddle and Pattinson was pretty tough to score off, good movement and very little to drive.

Siddle and Pattinson were bowling very well on a wicket that was still very good for seam and swing bowling.

Taylor and Brownlee could have been more positive against Starc for sure. I think Taylor wanted to really dig-in after the criticism he and the other batsmen copped midweek.

It is a pity that Williamson showed a little inexperience in not getting himself in again because he definitely had the right idea of how to go about his innings.

Southee pissed me off no-end. Don't know if anyone else saw this but he had a little chuckle as he walked passed the incoming batsman. If he doesn't perform tomorrow he needs to be asked if he wants to become a world-class player or just settle for mediocrity.

In the end, New Zealand once again hang with Australia for 2 days before disintegrating on the 3rd. It is depressing. It is even more depressing when you think about what might have been: first test victory in Australia for 26 years, drawing the series, etc. There is still some hope for tomorrow, but we must take at least 3 wickets in the first hour.

I thought Siddle in particular was guilty of bowling a fraction too short personally. Bowled quite a lot that could be quite comfortably left alone.

Chappelli dislikes him with a passion and there are also Aussie fans who thought he was a selfish red inker who 'hid' down at #5 and 6 for nearly all of his career.
A lot of Aussie fans are ****ing idiots though. (I should add, it's not just limited to Australia)

That has no reflection on their thoughts on Waugh...just a general observation.

Edit: I may be slightly annoyed after reading some of their comments in the Sunday Mail cricket section. I never learn.

Thought Starc pre-lunch today bowled his best spell so far at this level (the one where he clicked Brownlie).
