Feeling bi-polar. These two could make an impressive stand if Ryder can play his natural game without taking too many risks. Have been impressed by Brownlie, if he improves on his 77* I'd be overjoyed.

No I don't agree with this. This NZ batting lineup is not lower.

Victoria seem to have the best batting lineup in the country and that's who Pattinson plays for.

The only lineup as good as NZ's would probably be NSW's but that's not even a given, considering Hughes,Warner,Khawaja,Clarke,Haddin aren't available for NSW currently.

NZ's batting lineup is above QLD, Tasmania, South Australia and WA by my reckoning.

Yes India later in the summer will be another step up in class.

No chance buddy, we're better ODI/T20 players than most state sides, but there's no way we're better Test batsmen

Is Cummins injured now?

Cummins has a bruised heel. Nothing serious, and in times past he probably would have played this game. Thankfully though we are being much smarter than that and taking care of these good young quicks. Even Hazelwood who is fit and firing was rested from a one dayer this week to keep him from being over bowled. Cummins will be back for Hobart almost certainly. Hazelwood I reckon could be the best of the lot. He'll probably play a test against India, maybe Perth if we go with 4 quicks, earlier if injuries require.

I don't think you follow Australia's state cricket close enough, some of the batting lineups are quite weak.

I mean after all NZ's top 5 are all potentially world class batsman.

I give up. I just...hell.

There have to be consequences from this, but there won't because this is our best side. Broom is in terrible form and Flynn is injured. The rest don't have a case.

I don't think a batting order reshuffle will help either.

Gotta feel for NZ here, it really sucks when this stuff happens. Happened to us just a few tests ago.

It happens to us every series. I'm not sure how this lot manage to have decent records yet still pull these off.
