How good is the Pakistan Team right now? (AKA the Pakistani climate thread)

Can understand why the English fans are getting a little peeved in this thread. Some completely uneducated opinions being thrown around about the England bowlers.
None of the English bowler is proven on sub cont/mid east conditions. I think its also pretty stupid to just assume they will bowl well over here. Many quality players have struggled to replicate their home performances over here in the past and until we actually see perfomances from these players in our conditions we have every right to doubt their quality for these conditions.

That's totally different to saying they can't hold up an end or build pressure though!

Tbf, to Steyn he has done pretty well in SC except for that series in Abu Dhabi which had really flat wickets.

The English bowlers haven't performed so far in Asia as well they have in England though. Not saying they won't do well, but there is no past performance here to base it on.

Dale Steyn has 26 wickets at 20.23 in India!!!
I meant in the mid-east region and not SC

That's fair enough, it's also completely different from suggesting that only Swann can hold up an end and build pressure.

I'm quite confident about England's ability to bowl well in the UAE though. We've had no trouble dismissing Australia and India for less than 300 in the past year, on pitches that have been good enough for England to regularly score 500+ on.

I've got a good avatar bet in mind, but will wait until closer to the start of the series.

Apart from Faisal no one else suggested that English bowlers will have trouble holding up an end rest of us have been quite respectful of the english team eventhough we still feel they have to prove themselves in these conditions.

Personally I have a lot of confidence in English bowlers doing well here.I have made positive threads for the likes of Anderson and Tremlett on this forum and have nothing but positive things to say about Swann check Swann vs Ajmal thread.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have quoted your post because it sounds like I'm having a go at you which I'm not. I think your position on the England bowlers is a reasonable one to take, no matter how confident I am in their abilities to succeed.
