Great to see Tommy Stray do well. Also note that he's the captain of Woodville according to a clip I saw in the paper - usually the domain of a struggling team to make an import captain straight up.
Yeah it's true but Woodville are definitely not a struggling team any more (not doing awesome things this season and last, though). Can only think they went that way because Harris is playing so much state cricket.

Also, South Australia bit the bullet and went with Crosthwaite over Ludeman in 4 day cricket as well. Berry has long supported Ludeman, but even in Grade cricket he's never really dominated - Melbourne or Adelaide, averaging low 20s. Disappointing, as he's one of the better blokes you'll meet, and has worked his arse off to get to the level of player that he is.
Surely was always on notice once Crosswaite landed here though? I know you flagged Ludeman as being Berry's preferred player months ago but 3 games in as the first-choice 'keeper and he's out the door. Bam. Crosswaite obviously has aspirations to play higher and, unlike Ludeman, he's a chance which is why I had some doubts.

Gotta say, the batting line-up looks stronger with Crosswaite in it. Were Christian not hitting them so well, you'd probably play him at 6.

What is Faulkner like? Has nice FC bowling numbers and in the runs a bit (avg almost 30 with his current 70 odd). Or is he a bit docile with the ball for test cricket?

You would think he's a bit below test standard, same with Butterworth, but lesser bowlers have been given test spots and given time to develop.....

He'd be in the top three "most inflated career bowling records due to the green pitches in 2010/11". He's still young but he's surprisingly gun-barrel for someone who bowls at such a meager pace and he's not performed with the bat as Tasmania would've hoped so far in his career. If he does make it to the top level I think it'll have to be as an allrounder with his batting developing more as he gets older; I really doubt he'll get there on the strength of his bowling alone despite what his numbers are so far.

That's a bit of a shame...kind of itching for a new Watto (that would be genuine) and Moz has let me down so far.

What about Marsh junior? He is only young do we think his bowling will improve significantly to be able to be picked as a bowler? Watto had crazy bowling numbers early on but only got effective lately and only in conditions that suit.

Good to see Cruikshank getting his 50. Go on with it son.

The greatest batsman since Bradman Simon Katich fails again. He's averaging 30 this year, but I bet the calls for him to be thrown back into the test side won't subside until it hits 20. He would make a good No.8 though as the best wrist spinner in the country.

Faulkner is meant to be a swing bowler, looks to be in the Watson pace range rather than the Butterworth/Copeland one so he could make it as a bowler.

The Tasmanian tail is being annoying. Had them 5/196, the next 3 wickets have put in 150+ in good time. Hating it.

Cruickshank out looks like inside edge onto the stumps. Rorher and Smith partnership is back, let's see if it will be as devastating this time round.

Has never really swung it much at all though from what I've seen. I think people expect him to be able to do it because he's a left armer; I've noticed that seems to happen for some reason. He bowls decent areas, seams it a bit on the greentops he's played on and gets a natural angle away from the right handers but he doesn't move the ball either in the air or off the seam anywhere near as much as Copeland or Butterworth who I feel are both significantly better bowlers.

Haha, I only just realised that Bird was playing in this game. Hope he guns it; yet another Sydney grade cricket propping up Tassie would be awesome.

Should never have ****ing ditched him in the first place. Turfing him for fitness/weight reasons is hollow when he was still amongst the best SA bats in all forms (in an injury-hit season) and well-regarded within the team. That he won a Shield the following season and topped the run-scorers just underscores how pointlessly dogmatic SACA had become about the whole issue and how glad he must have been to see the back of the place.

So yes, would love him back.
