Never knew Bond bowled spin at 145km/h :p

Anyway I reckon Patel will become a permanent member of the NZ team soon enough. He looks to have great control over his flight and is a very promising cricketer. Good to see :)

Single handedly saving Test cricket in India this afternoon. Needs to be congratulated for it.

I feel that if I was coached for the same amount as him would have been a much better bowler.

Is this the end of the road for Patel? Does he deserve another chance? Should he be played again on a turning track? Are Athlai and DingDong keeping the faith in him?

Discuss Jeetan Patel's future here...

It's a pity as he did genuinely seem to have some promise a few years ago. If we wanted to make excuses then he probably suffered from being flown all over the world as 12th man for a few years there, and he's often played on pitches that aren't so much turners as flat pitches that don't assist anyone and therefore don't warrant an extra seam bowler.

But IMO that would be too kind. Just not good enough and not going to become good enough. I don't know if we have a better second spinner in tests but regardless we would almost always be better off with a fast bowler.
