Really can't see how Katich was ever going to play Tests again, tbh. They made such a show of saying they were moving forward with the new lot and that they were going to take time to develop, even in the face of some poor series', just can't see it.
Kat's just having a bit of an outburst, possibly emboldened by the support he got after his last press conference. All of the murmurs of timing, politics, etc. mean little when, basically, he's just having a spit. Non-event and Clarke's best defence would be to play a straight bat to any questions I reckon. Katich gets his whinge, Clarke looks like a statesman, everybody wins. If Clarke has a go, watch as public sentiment turns.
