Well we've had threads of a similar nature much earlier on in the piece, so why not. :p

Should be a good series. India love playing against us, but they just got the **** beaten out of them by England.

Hoping Zaheer plays, the last 2 times he was supposed to he broke down. It'll probably be 50/50 series, but I say we have the edge.

Thoughts?

Yeh I'd say a 50/50 series as well. On paper, and given it's in Australia, we really should be able to take it out, but India have a tendency to play better against us, so it's pretty even for me. Probably be able to make a better judgement after this SA 'series' though.

I don't see India getting wickets in Australia, especially if Zaheer isn't fit. Australia might just have the edge I reckon as it's in their own backyard.

60/40 to Australia I'd say, considering we're playing in Australia. It's gonna take quite a special performance from our bowlers to really compete this time around. I don't know what condition Irfan Pathan is in right now, but quite honestly, I'd take him to Australia.

I expect us to win the CB ODI Tri-series though.

India vs Australia, my favourite Test series. Should be epic.

The last time the two teams played, I lost my avatar - forever. Things will be different this time around :p

I think the RP debaracle probably wrecks his chances though.

Yeah I'd agree, but if Zaheer is fit, India might do something special. If not, I think we'll walk it.

Whatever it takes!!!
Australia's series.. Expect them to beat RSA and come in full of confidence. We will be **** as usual in the first game or two and improve slightly and still fall short.....

We should be favourites but far, far, far stranger things have happened. Reserved ats.

Doubt we will win any of the tests tbh. Sachin to completely dine out on the worst Aussie attack he has faced EVER. Should be a cakewalk for the Indians to score piles of runs, but their bowlers may struggle. Could be a 0-0 job. Johnson to play his last series hopefully. All our pitches are so flat, I don't see our bowlers getting more wickets than what we managed against England last season, and Sachin, Laxman, Dravid, Sehwag are all mightily experienced now in Australian conditions and will be ready.

It will be a battle of which bowling attack can take 20 wickets. Ryan Harris is shaping as the key player to determine the series result.

Another thing worth considering is that Zaheer, Sachin, Dravid, Laxman and Sehwag may all retire in the near future, so they may be extra motivated to win here.

Seeing how *great* we have played at home over the past 3 years some pessimism is justified.

Yeah, this.
if there aren't motivated for this series, they won't be motivated for anything....

A series win in aus is the only big thing this team hasn't achieved. plus, given how aggrieved they felt last time, i expect them to be up for it.

But it's still a much better attack than what India have.

2-0 to Aus atm (prediction likely to change by december).

I'm not a big believer in this line of thinking. Everyone has motivations for winning.

The last series in Australia for many of the Indians is just one minor sub-plot

I don't know about that. You look at the way England as opposed to Australia approached the 05 Ashes, for example, and then flip it around for the return series, and you can see that motivation can often be a big factor.

I don't think it'll be a major point of difference, though.
