Oh I agree. I'm mostly referring to one of our less positive Pakistani fans.
Don't worry about Xuhaib, once a wrist cutter always a wrist cutter.

The problem with Taufeeq, Azhar Ali, Younis, Misbah and Asad Shafiq is that they are really bad at rotating the strike.

Are you kididng me? Dilshan has brought himself on to shut the shop at a time when he should be looking to nip out a couple of wickets just before close.

Oh, I'm not saying they need to speed up. It just makes for... less than enthralling viewing, as a neutral.
That's very true in one sense, and given recent form I don't think oak fans can be too greedy.

But, if players are capable of scoring quicker, and if the pitch is flat, as well as the bowling then why shouldn't fans expect a bit more??

Hafeez showed that it can be done, the others are probably playing for their spots but still....

Azhar's over cautious approach is justfied.13 matches into his career, full of promising starts, and he won't get better conditions or a better scenario to finally get his 1st test century. So why not be cautious? The same goes for Taufeeq who needs to get some big scores in order to justify his constant selection in the team off late.

Even though i didn't agree with Misbah's decision to bowl first,no one should have the nerve to complain about Pakistan's current position or the way they are playing.A lead of 60 runs with 9 wickets in hand by stumps on the 2nd day is about as good as you can get.

No one is asking Azhar or Umar to play shots. All I want is a few more singles and twos. Azhar was also struggling against spin.

Sl need to stop playing tests and focus on ODIs and T20s.
Have you seen them bat try to bat 50 overs recently?
"Rotating the strike" everyone forgot what it means at the same time.

Murali retired and the whole batting order turned into a bunch of timid paper tigers.

Probably not what you'd call one of the most enthralling days of Test cricket, but thanks to Pakistan's top three today, they've got themselves into a very good position, but you would think they'd have to show a bit more intent in the following days.

You would expect top batsmen to look to dominate on this kind of surface, take the game forward and minimalise the chances of the opposition winning with every positive stroke, or aggressive piece of running. A collapse in the opening session tomorrow, and despite Pakistan losing just one wicket today, they would not be out of sight in this Test match. They've currently dominated the Test without putting SL out of the game.

Having said that, I would much rather be in Pakistan's position than SL's at this stage. SL's attack looks generally unthreatening, and the Pakistan batsmen so far should be complimented on their patience, discipline and concentration, but they still have plenty to do.

Was pleased for Taufeeq finally reaching three figures, but Hafeez is the one that is really growing into a very decent Test all-rounder. Two of his three Test centuries have come against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe (the other against an average WI attack), but I'm sure he'll be getting to three figures against some of the stronger nations in the years to come.

I think its not that bad to have a careful approach. I understand it really was slow but its only day 2, its OK to go slow set the platform and become aggressive on day 3.

Looking at the past collapses of Pakistan this was not a bad idea provided they do turn it up on day 3 to extend the lead...
