Would help if SL found a few half decent bowlers first. This lot aren't even that. Going to be down with Bangladesh soon unless they can find some wicket takers.

You need more than 1 decent bowler though. Herath is steady but no Murali. He was a freak and he had Vaas to help him so SL were always in any game with those two playing. Now a side just has to be sensible against the only decent bowler and cash in against the rest.
Not being nasty, just saying it as i see it. I hope SL find some young bowlers soon who can improve the team as the more good sides around the better it is for world cricket.

Good stuff here.Hopefully we can bring down the deficit to 0 without losing another wicket and then pile on the agony.Really looked forward to how Azhar Ali performs here.Has the platform,no pressure so he should be able to do well.He has all the temperament and technique in the world,but he just needs to get those big scores in.Hopefully he can start the chain from this match.

Herath is bowling beautifully here. Nice tight lines and enough variation to keep the batsman honest. He's going past the edge and getting them to hold their lines.
Shame about the support from the seamers. Pradeep and Lakmal both look like they might have something, but there's just no consistency at all.
What's the go with no Samaraweera? I'm not his biggest fan, but the bloke does average over 50! Big call to drop him.

Birth certificate dropping. They wanted to give more time to guys like Thirimanne and Chandimal, which I understand, but in no way should Samaraweera have gone. Reckon they'd have done well to drop Paranavitana if they were so keen on Thirimanne.

He definitely has shots, just give him time to build up runs and confidence, probably needs that century which is a bit if a monkey on his back.
