Crikey some people are never satisfied.

This is as good a day for Pakistan as the opening day of the Melbourne ashes test was for England yet the captain is getting stick for making a decision which came off and will probably end with his side going 1-0 up.

Yes we are.

There was not enough green on it to justify bowling first.Srilanka being all out for 197 was down to tight bowling, not a bowler friendly wicket. At the time of the toss, the only thing that justified bowling first was Pakistan's weak batting lineup and not exposing them to any trouble off the pitch, which there was none of as we saw in the Srilankan innings. It was an average batting display by them.Any other team with a decent batting lineup would have batted first without thinking twice.
When the captain chooses to have a bowl and the bowlers respond by bowling the opposition out for less than 200, then it is 100% the right call, regardless of what assistance there was or wasn't or how badly Sri Lanka batted.

Folks need to remember that there's more to your decision at the toss that what the wicket is like the moment you let go of the coin.

Wouldn't have been the decision I took but certainly paid off for sure. End of the day: good call Misbah.

Great performance by Pak bowlers and Misbah for selecting to bowl. Surprised that they managed to get all out for below 200 on a road. Also happy that professor and toffee finished the day without losing their wickets. :)

Great chance for us to get 5th place in the rankings.

RR of ~2.5 again, these guys have forgotten to play shots:@
Anyway PJ is done for the next test. So we will get either K.Silva or Chandimal in.

Next up is Dilshan.
Chandimal isn't the best with the gloves so its a slight risk and Kaushal seems unlikely because the selectors are fools. Chandimal deserves a shot so should get the nod I guess.

A lot of people are complaining that Junaid has a kink in his action. Anyone else notice this? What are your views on this BoyBrumby (always respected your views on chucking).

no love for Cheema? I thought his spell post lunch to Sanga and Jaya setup the collapse later on.

Where was this guy when Sami was being pummeled day in an out by Sehwag.

nuwan pradeep bowls all over the place but at least he looks like he can get wickets. He'll be formidable if he can get his radar sorted out.

No concerns here. Bowls with a good snap of his wrist, as a lot of swing bowlers do, but my antenna didn't twitch once and, as regular readers might've gathered, they are quite finely tuned.

Excellent point, whilst it's nice if you can pick up players from obscurity pak need to put faith in their domestic performers as a more long term model.
Professor is quickly trying to get his PHD. Toffee on the other hand is finding it hard.
A professor trying to get his phd? :)
