*Official* T20 and ODI matches

Yorkshire Gingerbread wins the day for England. And there was some insane hitting in the last 30 mins.

India are going to return home winless, but tbf should have had some results in the ODIs.
Should or could, the fact is when the matches played out we won them. Someone always stood up and India always froze, who is to say we wouldn't have done the same in the incompleted ones.

How are the world champions ranked 5th? Bloody hell.

Not taking the Mickey Bliss, btw; genuinely seems counter-intuitive.
The strongest team rarely plays any ODI's together except the World Cup tbf.

Maybe more weight should be given to WC performances.

Anyway, was that the best one day debut by a England player in recent times?

Complaining about the rain in England is equivalent to complaining about the pitches during the Asia WC just gone; deal with it. There's no guarantee India would have won either of the shortened games, especially as we were ahead during the Tie right up until the last ball, and India's utter failure to do anything in the other games is no-one's fault but theirs.

Nah!! You wouldn't tbf.:p
How do you know?

Would back us in a home WC, just FTR, but that wasn't my point anyway and you know it

MOTM for Bairstow. Well deserved. Highest impact start since Pietersen's Test debut IMO.

3 reasons:

1. India in the last couple of years have very rarely had their full strength side playing in ODIs; occasionally, such as in this this series it is injury related, on other occasions, such as the home series vs Australia last year, it is because they're rotating and resting players.

2. Related to point 1 above, this means that India's actual ODI results in the last couple of years have been fairly ordinary; IIRC they failed to make the final of a tri-series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka

3. The ICC's rankings hilariously give the same importance to a World Cup final as they do to a match in a tri series in Zimbabwe where India have sent what, at best, can be described as a "C" team.

Admittedly, I should have phrased it better. What I meant is that the visitors' ODI series wasn't as bad as the scoreline shows. Yes, they were comfortably the second best team on display, but the gulf between the two sides wasn't too great.

In tests, it was glaringly obvious that in all departments - skill, application, fitness, dedication - one side was several leagues above the other. 4-0 drubbing was a perfectly reflective result, IMHO!

4. They only won the World Cup because it was at home and everything was rigged in their favour
