I guess this innings will resurrect the 5/4 bowlers argument.
Indeed. Could be taken either way though. India are suffering from the paucity of their attack, England are benefitting from their depth of batting.

I think that coaches etc. have looked at the frequency and decided that injuries like this are rare enough to risk it.

Matty's best knock for us, I'd say. Only a 50 and not even over yet, but so vital.

I think the pitch is very flat, just the movement through the air that's made the match more even between bat and ball. Admittedly, Sharma's got a few to nip, but nothing too much - that was simply very good bowling. Keep batting, and hope for a cloudy Monday.

I'm pretty sure that team England figured that an early wicket or two that night would put India into huge trouble and they figured that was the best way to get India all out cheaply. Of course they ended up bowling well and India didn't make too many after surviving those 6 overs.

If England were 2/110 from 34 overs no one would be bringing up this argument. This is the same English team that has been producing big scores on such a regular basis that the last thing Strauss and co. expected was a dour 5/80 from 34 overs.
Actually, I was bringing up this argument when the declaration was made.

You're not always going to be 110/2; sometimes you're going to be 80/5. Even if it's rare, it's something that could happen. It's not something that should feature a lot into declaration decision, but there is absolutely no way that not declaring could've gone wrong. There was nothing going for the declaration at all, and going against it was this possibility.

It's gonna take a monumental effort by India to escape with a draw if Gambhir and Tendulkar don't bat. I think this calls for another VVS masterclass, but I suspect Swann may run through the line-up with it gripping a bit and it being second last/last day.

This'll be an immense test of grit for the Indian, I'm looking forward to seeing how Mukund goes.

Celebrating injuries to players you don't like is dire. Gonna stick with my decision to stay away from this place for the rest of this series.

With the team crumbling to injury, Tendulkar arrives just in time to share with his few fit team mates his viral infection.

I challenge you to go for a week without mentioning that.
I wonder how long it'll last. Can just imagine him still making voodoo posts about Gambhir in 2016 because of a Test he missed five years beforehand and the next generation of CricketWebbers scratching their heads.
