Your best moment as a fan (int'l cricket)?

Yeah, toss-up between Ashes 05 and the one just gone. As a singular moment, would have to agree with Brumby but I probably enjoyed last winter's victory more overall.

Agreed although finally beating the WIndies in 1990 for the first time after those two 5-0 hammerings was a bit special

Single moment - Kasprowicz c Jones b Harmison

However, Boxing Day 2010 at the MCG will surely never be beaten for sheer extended ecstasy.

we winning the world cup in april. because it capped off what has been a perfect unparallelled career that of srt, and I could contently say (brag) we were numero uno in the formats that mattered!

From about teatime on 12.9.05 until my alcoholic collapse about 6 hours later. Before that 5th Test began I'd invested in a pair of tickets for the 5th day and they were worth every one of the twenty thousand pennies that they cost me. Best day of my sporting life.

Closely followed by the final day of Sussex v Leicestershire at Hove in 2003 when we won our first Championship. A very special day.

On reflecton, the Sydney Test last time India toured was a fantastic highlight.

It wasn't at the time, but it became so over the ensuing few days.

What about our three world cup victories in a row or our extended winning streaks. Tough call Burgey

I know. The 5-0 drubbing of England in 06-07 is up there. Winning in India I suppose has to take some precedence, because apparently it's the greatest test of any player from any planet, anywhere, ever. So that was good. Beating SA straight after they won over here was quite a remarkable feat really, too.

Of course you have your lows as well. Losing the Ashes at home is a terrible feeling, likewise when Pakistan and India beat us on our own turf in those test series... oh wait.

Yes agreed, 2005 was amazing but also earlier this year, in Oz, was pretty epic.

From what I've actually been at live, watching Martin and Mills tear through the poms in Hamilton a couple of years back. First time I'd ever witnessed a New Zealand test match win. Then there's also McCullum cracking Bracken for six over backward square to (effectively) seal the game with 7 needed from the last over chasing 349, also in Hamilton. Good times.

It's a thread about your favourite moment/s as a cricket fan. Its alternative title is "Annoy everyone else by rubbing their nose in how much you enjoyed beating their team".

No.. the implication actually is "post the favorite triumphs of your team".. I don't see where any other poster was rubbing it into anything.. If you said something like Jamaica 95, you are not hurting the Windies fans. But here you are deliberately baiting Indian fans which is quite unwarranted, at least in this thread.

Well I enjoy it when Australia win (which isn't that often these days :) )

So it is actually difficult to single out a single moment I enjoyed the most. Maybe the Ashes in 89 I should have added, as it was a bit out of nowhere at the time. I think the true lowest point was probably losing in 86-87 to an England team that was frankly pretty crap, but we were just horrible.

I wasn't singling out Indian fans tbf, I did include Pakistan in my reference to the series in Australia. I ought to have added Sri Lanka too. Was remiss of me.

This coming summer will be India's best chance to beat Australia here, ever. Maybe the series in 85-86 would be marked down as a real missed opportunity too. But with India having a good bowler to lead their attack in Zaheer, and a potent batting line up against what is at best a pretty mixed Australian attack, their chances much surely be very, very good.
