A very long tail hasn't been an issue for them this tour and they are 60 runs ahead already.Hughes out for 125....should lock him in for 1st Test v SL

Paine and Marsh really should be able to score plenty of runs against this attack. It's not even remotely close to the best attack Zimbabwe could field - they've gone in with no specialist spinners despite the fact that it's clearly their strength, and two of their best three pace bowlers (IMO) aren't playing either. Reckon Krejza could score a few too if he took it seriously and tried to build an innings.Hughes out for 125....should lock him in for 1st Test v SL

I know, it kind of downgrades these runs in some ways as this is nowhere near their strongest team.Paine and Marsh really should be able to score plenty of runs against this attack. Yeah, indeed. It's hardly like Australia sent even a proper Second XI team over though; it's a development team that they're looking to get something out of. Zimbabwe are doing the same thing in a lot of ways; winning isn't the sole or even main objective of this series for either side.I know, it kind of downgrades these runs in some ways as this is nowhere near their strongest team.
On a Zim forum, some of the posters were suggesting that they were using Aus A as a shootout for the second and third seamers' positions for the tests coming up against Bangladesh.
This A side - in theory - is very strong.Yeah, indeed. It's hardly like Australia sent even a proper Second XI team over though; it's a development team that they're looking to get something out of. started when paine walked in tbhMarsh and Krejza dismissed early by Meth and Vitori. Looks like we're into the tail.
You're probably right.started when paine walked in tbh
Should have played Utseya imo.Ncube was an inspired selection; batted eleven and bowled 3 out of the first hundred overs.
That's what I suspect, that he is intent on a ton before declaration. I don't really blame him, but a win would look more impressive than a 'look I got a ton... oh, and a draw'.Oh yes he is. He's already got assigned the future captaincy with his one FC ton. Imagine what doubling that tally is gonna do?!?! Captain for the SL tour?!?!?
I reckon going for the ton is the smart and most logical move. Still a possible 150 overs left in this match, definitely enough time to get a result. That's what I suspect, that he is intent on a ton before declaration.
