How often have we taken early wickets only to see Sri Lanka drag it back with relative ease?

To be fair, its mainly been down to Chandimal rather than over-defensive field in this case, but I still feel we could be doing more.

Anyway I did explicitly say it was mainly down to Chandimal in this case, he does look very impressive - had a bit of luck but he's created it thanks to the initial counterattack. Of course Swanneh bowling is always going to build pressure in itself.

Horses for courses aparently, wanted the second spinner. The implication being that if England had played 4 seamers Broad would have been one of them.

Watching Dernbach properly for the first time here. Looking distinctly inconsistent/unthreatening. Is that a fair analysis of his series, or has there been some inexplicable competence in there?
