Is it the case that some India fans who have never travelled outside India are undeliberately manipulated into an unrealistic world that paints everything as harder for Sachin?

I only ask because the likes of Jono, vcs and SS all live or have lived outside India and are a lot more level-headed on this sort of issue.

Obviously there are exceptions, like Teja - one of the gunnest posters on CW full stop - but still. Perceptions seem so different between those based in and out of India.

There was an awesome anecdote Thommo had about him. Something about him watching him in the nets in the 60s/70s and wondering why he still wasn't playing.

"On a rest day during the Indian tour in 1977-78, Don Bradman was around in the nets. I was bowling only legspin to him, but he had a couple of young blokes trying to get him out. With no pads, no nothing ... for a 68-year-old, he belted the hell out of them on a turf wicket. And he hadn't batted for 20 years. The best batsman of all time has to be Sachin Tendulkar. Why? The reason is that he has been able to perform throughout decades at the highest level and is still as hungry now as he was when he made his debut.

The best bowler of all time has to be the highest wicket-taker of all time,... Murali.

You ask why? I believe with all the turmoil he has had to go through he has finally answers critics who questioned his action. He is truly a great spinner like Shane Warne, but, for me, Murali just pips him.

Jacques Kallis is a fantastic all-round cricketer. Woudl he be the best all-rounder of all-time? Simply... no. There has only ever been one great all-rounder. IAN TERRANCE BOTHAM.
