Forum Rule Changes including Introduction of Infraction System

Mr. Glass
While we are at it, how about the following posts ? Do they violate the forum rules considering we think of this as a family forum ?
This is what I can make out of the posts that you quoted Sanz, not looking for a fight here, I am just going to say what I think:

1. Everyone knew it was a joke. Not the first time we have seen you not getting a joke and respond to one all seriously. Relax man.

2. Truths. Benn is a ****** and we all know it. Worse things have been said about players when a match is going on in the past.

3. The guys involved in the exchange of the posts are cool with it and have history of pulling each other's legs(and other parts of each others anatomy:ph34r:). No harm done.

4. That was done in jest. All good fun and I don't see any other members taking offence in that case(NZT's comeback was awesome, lol benchy you were pwned)

5. What was wrong there anyway? That was a normal post that could have had a normal debate and I don't see anything wrong with that post.

I can't believe you Heath. Honestly was going to do it all season in footy tipping. And you dobbed?

Shattered. :(
TBF, if you capitalized the "C", it's a nice touch of respect.

The person who instigates the issue is most likely going to get a stiffer penalty. However, if you respond to the poster and cause a derailment, you are also at fault. The end result is that a thread is ruined. That's why you should ignore the post and let us handle it.
While I accept that, I think the warnings that were handed out as a result of the thread in question were unnecessary as neither of the pair in question actually responded to any of the posts made (and I think describing posts made by myself, Shri and Corrin as 'baiting' is really pushing the definition.)

Although I'm responding to you, I'm not having a go, as I've said elsewhere (might even have been a couple of pages ago in this thread) I thought you handled the thread excellently and I've no issues with anything you did. I think you were let down by trigger happy colleagues who are far too quick (IMO) to hand out infractions.

Something of note which happened the other day: I screencapped a pic from a television broadcast which is categorised as being PG viewing, only for 4o6 to remove it on the basis that it was "not suitable for a family forum", my requests for this matter to be elucidated have so far gone unanswered.

WAC you are.

Also how far out is where you live from London? Need to know how much I need to travel to see your ugly ass.
I live nearby, so come and see me instead imo, so I can give you a stone cold stunner.

That was, just like any most warnings/infractions handed out, a group decision. And one that I agree with FWIW. We all understand that there was some trolling being done in the WC threads. Plenty of people reported the posts and ignored the trolling. The thread remained relatively peacefull as long as the trolling was being ignored. As soon as people started responding to the trolling, the thread derailed. That's why we handed out the warnings to people who responded (and a ban to the main culprit who started it all). Trust me, I know it's difficult to resist responding, but please refrain from it as it only feeds the trolls. After the flame war starts, the rest of the people who were successfully ignoring the one or two trolls, no longer have the option to do so as most of the thread is now a back-and-forth between the two parties.

Come on Sledger, was that pic really appropiate? I get that you got it from a PG rated show, but obviously people that are tuning in to that show know what to expect. A person posting here doesn't necessarily expect to see a guy being forced to kiss another person's bare behind.

You know what though, if you want to censure us for responding to dhoni-fan, fine. But to label it as trolling/baiting is pretty bloody wrong-headed and offensive IMO.

I asked over email to no avail so I will ask again here, please explain how my post was trolling. I read posts the next day that said the thread was 'dire' and 'full of arrogant hubristic ****'. Given I didn't name anyone, please enlighten me how my post was any different to these.

As a former mod, I don't doubt that they're group decisions, which raises a different issue about the moderating.

If infractions and warnings are being given out after group consensus, great. But the more senior mods need to be pulling the trigger a lot more than they're currently doing. Off the top of my head I've received 8 seperate warnings/infractions - all of which have been handed out by either yourself or four_or_six. Whether I agree or disagree with them is neither here nor there, if you guys are infracting me as a result of group consensus then fair enough. But the perception I'm getting is that yourself and four_or_six are far more trigger happy than the other mods.

If the decision to infract is done by group consensus, then you guys need to infract as a group. The more senior mods need to take more responsibility than they are currently, because you guys are being hung out to dry by their apparent inaction. My perception of you guys us probably grossly unfair, but what's equally unfair is that this perception has been allowed to build up.

Whatever it takes!!!
The handling of infractions in the aftermath of the Pakistan v India semi final has been atrocious to say the least.

I appreciate that Fusion had a tough job with 2 posters in particular who have done nothing but post rubbish since they joined, and I'm not having a go at his moderation. I thought he handled it as well as could be expected seeing as he seemed to be holding the fort on his own.

However, the handing out of infractions to posters, supposedly for "inflaming" the situation is nonsense. Deal with the problem posters ffs.
I wonder if you guys even understand that Fusion was probably as disappointed (if not more) at his team losing in the semis (and esp. with the defeat being more of his own team's making than any gr8 cricket from opposition) and still had to come out and hold the fort in that thread amidst some of the worst posting (not just by the 2 everyone is referring to)... I mean, come on, cut him slack.. Fusion, you deserve a medal, mate.. and I am bloody serious.

Okay, just going to put in my two groats.

Look, TBH I just don't get how mods even keep any sanity, How can you prove these ****s are duplicates, I often call them myself, but without proof it's pointless.

I'm happier with stricter rules. I like to know that people are being told when they're going across the line.

Some Indian posters are ****, but so are some English posters, and all the other nationalities.

The moderation is crap, but so has been the moderation at every other forum I've been at, because I've never been the head moderator or owner, so I resent all authority that isn't me, which is pretty much what we all do.

Yet I'm willing to bend to the owner of the sites and the people that put in the hard work and expense to keep it running. If I hated it that much I'd just leave.

FFS, if your infracted on a forum it really isn't a human-rights issue.

Care to point me in the direction of any posts where I criticised Fusion?

I've praised the job he's done more than once.
