I've had very little to do with dhoni_fan outside of match threads

It was the match threads that I meant..It sorta feels pretty sad that you guys let in your issues with one poster affect what you think of a team...



And don't blame me, I still think England are a great side, inspite of my issues with some of the posters here who are supporters of England.. (Not you, obv. )

The handling of infractions in the aftermath of the Pakistan v India semi final has been atrocious to say the least.

I appreciate that Fusion had a tough job with 2 posters in particular who have done nothing but post rubbish since they joined, and I'm not having a go at his moderation. I thought he handled it as well as could be expected seeing as he seemed to be holding the fort on his own.

I haven't seen the match thread - largely stayed out of it for these reasons - but surely if someone's inflaming the situation, they're part of the problem?

Fusion did an excellent job post-match in there but it seems some can't just let things be.

IMO there's been enough constant trolling for a few weeks for a ban to be given to certain posters.

Ignoring posters doesn't work because people inevitably quote them.

I had to be restrained because of my points total, because the wrong headed moderation would have meant that any reaction from me would have seen me carded and banned.

Corrin and myself got nonsense warnings for supposedly "inflaming" the situation (and I'd hazard a guess, based on our warnings, Shri got one as well), yet neither one of those posters got banned despite repeatedly making crap posts all afternoon (and it's not a new thing with either of them).

Obviously though the less people quote them, the better it will be.

I know it's reflex to just quote them and tell them where to go. But that is what they want. They are making posts for the reaction. Stuff like "india never looked like losing" is pure bait. Just absolute bait. If you bite, they win. The forum loses.

If the solution to a problem is the whole forum putting someone on ignore...well there is an easier way that can be achieved. Ignore should be for individual issues not so a troll doesn't irritate everyone.

The latest cw lolism is that responding to a troll is considered trolling. Go figure.

Yeah I know - I agree with you really - what I'm saying is that you are right that if everyone put them on ignore the problem would go away but as that's the only way it'll happen then they need a ban.

It's a good while. You can get from London to Liverpool or Chester in two hours by train, I live 20 mins from both. It's expensive though. But booking in advance is usually cheaper.
