Doing a good job of screwing up an excellent foundation here NZ.

On the bright side, Jesse Ryder's ODI career SR is up to 97.90 :-O

Taylor gone, the innings beginning to hinge on how Ryder plays for the remainder of the innings. Franklin in at 5. Would have thought Styris and Ryder to stabilise and ensure they're in a good position to explode towards the end of the innings, maybe Franklin's capable of doing that too.

Big time here for NZ as this innings looks in danger of imploding horribly and any hopes of 350 are quickly disappearing, partnership required.
Styris has brought a negative approach so far in this series and with Taylor already putting a darkener on the innings we can't afford Styris to add to that. Franklin is playing his natural game and i think its a nice move.

Oh my goodness that was a delectable shot. Jimmy is the best batsman to watch in this team.

NZ look like they are waiting for the diabolical Tanvir to back on to bowl.

I think anything under 320 will make Pakistan favorite.

Am convinced NZ have got the top 3 about right today. At least it means if we do lose an early wicket, we effectively have another opener coming in. Wouldn't be all that fussed if they changed it to the old faithful of McCullum & Ryder opening & Guptill at 3 either.

I'm adamant no. 3 is too high for Taylor. Both Taylor & Styris are reasonably proficient at working the spinners around, which of course will be key at the world cup, so makes sense having them at 4 & 5. If NZ wanted to really take advantage of the 2nd PP,they could even bat Taylor as low as no. 5.

Fair enough mate, when put that way probably makes sense.

He is a clean striker of the ball, but that's stretching it way too far for mine. Agree with Flem, both Guptill & Ryder are better to watch IMHO.

Well time for me to hit the sack.

The loss of a couple of wickets may actually have helped focus Ryder here, was starting to lose his way a touch and looked certain to throw it all away. With the loss of Guptill and Taylor, he's realised the responsibility falls on him to get NZ to a big score.

Oh dear Franklin gone now. The beauty of bringing back a genuine wicket-taker in these middle overs.

James Frankin is beginning to be my new Inzamam Ul Haq.

Whenever I watch him live on TV he rarely performs at his career level.
