Interesting point, initially it was believed that NZ would take the PP at the 34th over after McCullum was set. So either they changed that plan due to him being dismissed or as you say it was a "genius" tactic.

That's the most ridiculous part of the whole "plan", tbh.

Saving a certain batsman for 5 overs of PP when there's every chance they get out before it is even taken.

The opposition only need to take 1-2 wickets per match, and NZ will gift them the rest.

haha...NZL @ home are usually a formidable opponent don't think they are playing their best cricket but still given where we were after the spot fixing gate this is a massive improvement.
